They take advantage of unsuspecting tourists here. Beware!! Portuguese prices different from English translation side in the menu, BEWARE 👀 They take your order and procede to “give” you a samosa, a croquette (which are both cold and not good), and bread. To my surprise they proceed to add these not requested items to your bill. I’m sure they only do this to tourists. By the way, the croquette and the samosa were old, stale and cold, which added insult to injury. Basically they are adding 5 euro per person to your bill without you asking for those things. Dosent seem much but if your a family of 4 it’s an extra 20€!! Too bad, because the actual food and service are pretty good. Price is good too, 1/2 litre or house wine is 3.5 euros, my total bill was 14.5 without the fake “extras”. I fought the injustice, and they took the “extras” off my bill, because I was fuming mad 😡 It was insulting, because without the drama it would have been a pleasant meal in an interesting and old school tasca. The head waiter called me “uneducated and vulgar” and I basically told him that it wasn’t cool that they try to take advantage of a foreign tourist. Good food, but not worth the stress. Watch Out! Go there if you feel like having an argument with a bunch of old waiters. I personally enjoyed telling them that I wasn’t going to let them take advantage of me. I had threatened to leave without paying my bill in order for them to remove the items that I didn’t order and they...
Read moreThis was our take away lunch experience. We ordered Chicken and Fish. Both dishes were flavoursome and we'll made. The grilled chicken with rice should have had a bit of the chicken gravy to go with it to give it a bit of moisture and kill the dry effect. But the flavours were very good. The Salmon fish with veggies and potato was awesome 👌 something I would come back for again. The freshness of the fish and it's cooking to it's right texture kept all the flavours of this dish intact. Loved it all. Unfortunately the confectionery or desert that we had ordered was not at all good. Sorry to say the cheese cake was not a cheese cake but a white sugary mouse with extra sweet artificially flavour red jam , again too sweet to my liking. Some improvement to this section of the menu would make your place a delicious 😋 experience for people like us from abroad. All the very best to you...
Read moreThat's the place where you can enjoy authentic local food. The restaurant is not easy to find, the customers are mainly locals and you need indeed recommendations from locals on how to get there. The restaurant is one-not-so-big room and because of that one should reserve a table in advance to be sure to fit in there. The dinner usually begins with appetizers, which is brought to you as default. Be careful that, according with Portuguese tradition, you pay also that. In case you don't want it, just mention to the waiter, and they will take it away from your table. The food is amazing, genuine, fresh made and tasty. Big portions, so you won't leave the place still hungry. Definitely reccomended, if you want to enjoy a typical...
