An unexpected surprise! We went to Ramiro but it was closed that day so we browsed around. This restaurant, from the outside, didn’t look very appealing but their fresh seafood aquariums atracted us. We ate a very delicious lunch in a classi Lisboa atmosphere. We realy enjoyed, the oysters and the Srimps with garlic as well as the boiled ones were the best we ate during our trip. The wine menu is a bit limited but the Mateus rose worked just fine for us. The prices were also fair and the seafood variety was grande! Would plesantly return any tine. The place is not luxurious or fancy, but the friendly kind staff sure make up for that! If you have the chance, go pay them a tasty visit! ;)

We were looking for a different place to eat but couldn't find it. It worked in our favor because this place was fantastic. They didn't speak fluent English but they tried their best to answer our questions. We were on the search for grilled octopus and my husband ordered it. It was delicious and tender, couldn't have asked for better. I ordered the dorade. It was some of the best fish I've ever eaten. I ordered it with the vegetables and fries. Everything was wonderful! If I was staying longer I'd go back. I highly recommend Barcabela.

Fantastic un simple words a menu full of fresh seafood options daily including those options that are direct catch from the aquarium (crab & lobster ) typical Portuguese and authentic kitchen including giant Mozambican shrimp and meet options the famous pregos... soups ... rices you name . From outside this is not perhaps inviting but dare to walk in and you will be surrounded by a world of flavors. Fresh draft beer ... and although this place gets busy and crowded noise levels I have found not to be disturbing to the more quiet ones .

My boyfriend and I were looking for a place to have late dinner. We decided we wanted to have crab. So we went here. While we were deciding on what we were going to eat the waiter left a basket of freshly baked bread without saying anything. It took a while for us to decide what we wanted and a waiter left a plate with some sort of octopus salad which we didn't touch. A few minutes later a waiter took the plate of octopus salad with him, without asking us if we didn't want it or saying anything (at this point we still hadn't ordered anything). We ordered our food and it was good. Crab was fresh and the taste was good, it was cold, so it's not cooked for you after you order, it's already cooked for a while. We paid after we were finished and left. Later I checked the receipt and I discovered we were charged for the bread (which we did eat, 2,40 a basket) and the salad (6,90), which we didn't touch.

Bread for starters is usually on the house, but since we did eat it, it's fine they've charged for it. But I don't think it's okay to charge for a random starter from the menu they left on our table without saying anything, which we didn't even touch!

This and the waiters walking around really fast and bringing things to the tables without saying anything (practically dumping (some random, some ordered)) dishes on the tables and charging us for things we didn't eat make it only 2,5 out of 5 stars for me, but I can't give a half star so I give 3.

It's sad to say, but: check your receipt...

Awful! We were cheated. The food was good, but before we ordered anything, they brought 2 mussles, we thought it was complementary, like in all European countries, and then they also brought us 2 baskets of bread - we also didn't order them, but we thought it was complementary too. At the end, they included it in the bill, and, what's more, they brought us different wine from that what we ordered. It was bad. And in the bill they put it like "otros" - "the other", for a differemt, higher price! So., they absolutely spoiled our stay in Lisbo, I don't recommend anybody to visit this restaurant and my impression of Portugal is that they don't care about the customers at all. They returned some of the money, but with a...

Fantastic food and exceptional, quick service. We were a party of 6 and had thankfully made a booking for a Saturday night dinner, so everything went smoothly from the get go. Two bottles of delicious vinho verde, fantastic bread and cheese, garlic prawns, mussels, to start, followed by lobster rice, curry shrimp and salmon. The standout dishes for me were the garlic prawns and lobster rice and the rice dessert was quite lovely too. Definitely worth a visit if you are in Lisbon. No-nonsense food in a no-frills restaurant but with lovely, friendly atmosphere and gorgeous food. An excellent time was had by all. Highly recommended, and definitely value for money if you order sensibly (the portions...
