Really comfortable stay with great facilities and friendly staff!
Stayed here for 10 days recently and really enjoyed our stay. From the get go all the staff were really friendly, competent and had great English - particularly the reception, baggage, breakfast host and pool bar staff.
The rooms were really spacious with some really nice touches such as HDMI (and scart) connections right beside the bed which link to the TV. You can then have the TV play through a speaker in the bathroom (albeit a little too quietly). Aircon worked well and the rooms were serviced every day we were there despite us often not taking the 'do not disturb' sign off the door until 3pm or later.
Breakfast was excellent, really friendly greeting each day. We were offered times right up until 10:30 which we loved as it allowed a little lie in each morning. One morning it as very busy but for the most part that 10:30 slot was really quiet but still had a full section. Breakfast included a cold meat selection with ham, chorizo, turkey, cheese, a good cereal and fruit selection, a good bread selection with rolls, white bread, brown bread and toasting facilities, a good pastry selection with pastel de nata, croissants, apple turnovers and much more. It also had an extensive hot selection with beans, sausages, bacon, hash browns, pancakes, fried eggs, scrambled eggs, porridge, mushrooms, tomatoes etc. The selection as excellent but we felt it still got a bit repetitive over 10 days. Possibly if they changed the type of sausages or did poached eggs / omelettes some days or changed up the cold meat selection that may have added some additional variety but overall we loved it. Coffee machines and good selection of juice and water available as well.
The pool and rooftop facilities were outstanding... IF you could get a bed. We felt there weren't nearly enough beds for the demand there was on them. We went at a variety of times and often found no beds available from 10am onwards which was annoying and resulted in us having to change plans on numerous occasions. We went at 9am some mornings and found even then a lot of people had put towels on beds and gone downstairs for breakfast so even at that time there was no guarantee of a spot in the sun. We felt this should have been managed better. Additionally at 9am when we would go up there seemed to be no rooftop staff on so getting a towel wasn't always possible until cleaner walked by or the staff turned up. However when the staff were there and there were beds available it truly is outstanding on the roof, great service for drinks, amazing pools and incredible views all around the hotel. We often went up for a drink before heading out for dinner and the staff were always chatty and making jokes, we loved it when we could get a place. Additionally the rooftop remains open all through the night for smoking or relaxing. I'm not sure if swimming is permitted but we enjoyed our own drinks up there after 10pm when the bar closed and security was very friendly once we had no glass.
The downstairs bar was much less inviting with more of a restaurant seating layout. We used it once and after this didn't bother. We felt a few couches and lower more casual seating would have made it better.
Check in at 3pm and check out at 12pm was very fair and allowed us t maximize our stay. They also let us leave baggage in a locker room on our arrival and departure which allowed us to explore Lisbon without bags on our first and last day.
Overall I highly recommend this place for Lisbon exploring, but if your plan is to lie by the pool all day, you'll need to be...
Read moreIt grinds my gears, when bottom hotels/establishments act as if they would have done anything! To enter someone's room when a do not disturb, it was bad enough knocking on the door. Everything was hard, so miss me, with their fake comment of doing something about it. Stop lying!!!
I no longer trust reviews, their is absolutely no way the other reviews are real. They had to pay someone and get reviews like mine that are honest removed.
I am used to staying in real 4-5 star hotels, four seaons, langham, ritz, JW, hiltons. Everything is comfortable, it feels like a home away from home. No springs in your back, face, hand and body towel are always there. This place had no face towels.
Everything to sit/sleep on feels like you're in Alcatraz, a prison for those of you not familiar.
When I say run and do NOT book, I am being 1000% honest!!! You might as well sleep at the airport.
I tried and tried but due to them being a 1 star hotel I couldn't even enjoy lisbon. I tried taking some PM pills, but the springs sticking me in my back always woke me.
For those risk takers, stay here, but you were warned. It is NOT a 3-5 star, like I said it's like the motel inn or something. This hotel makes the holiday Inn look like a 5 star. It's a 3 star. I haven't never been in so much pain from sleeping on a box spring.
The worst hotel I have ever stayed in (domestic and international) a scale of 0-100, they get a 5, between waiting on elevators for 10 minutes or the hard bed and chairs, the cheap alcohol at their bars, employees breaking and entering, the only positive is the key worked. Nope, they didn't give you any warning that the lights doesn't cut on w/or key, luckily I lived abroad and figured it out. Covid put a huge pause on my international travel.
If you're use to real 4 5 stars this place is do far from it. Oh the water is very hard, I strongly suggest bringing additional lotion/baby oil.
THIS IS A DUMP!!!!!! with a mediocre rooftop, I travel a lot!
I would NOT recommend this hotel, unsure how the ratings are so high, seems like a 2 star at best and thats a stretch. I felt more like I was in a motel 8. The beds are the absolute hardest and chair. You will feel springs, these are box springs NOT mattresses. My back and body still hurts. I always put the do not disturb on my door and this hotel came knocking and then ENTERED my room. Don't trust them! It's their sign in multiple languages, clearly they are not on the up & up! Not safe.
The elevators are so so so slow, you'll wait at least w0 minutes, I suggest taking the stairs. 8 would only order an uber once in the lobby, since most were 2-3 minutes away. Location is decent, the rooftop has decent space to chill, the drink selection is minimal, if you're into cheap alcohol, this is your spot.
If I came back to lisbon, I would not select this hotel, it could be free and I rather pay to stay in a real...
Read moreExcellent hotel! Let me break this review down a bit:
Context: family of 2 parents and a 1 year old toddler travelling through Portugal. Lisbon was our last stop before heading back home. We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights.
Check-in. It took a while to check in but we were offered fruit infused water and help with our luggage.
Room. Excellent, spacious family room. Huge bed comfortably welcoming 2 adults. The hotel prepared a baby cot with special "le Petit Prince" branded soap and shampoo for our boy. There even was a baby bathing "bowl" in the bathroom to bathe him. So far, this hotel brought the most and best attention to our toddler! Well done. The bathroom is modern, roomy and sanitary equipment feels new and squeaky clean. There are light switches right in the middle of the bed area, very practical to control the lights from the bed. The lighting is indirect, making for bright but soft light. Excellent!
Breakfast, is a blast. Huge buffet, live cooking station. Some daily variety. Absolutely everyone should find something here to eat. From fruit to vegetables, sweet to salty, a huge variety of juices, coffees and so on.
There is a small rooftop pool which we didn't try because someone celebrated their birthday that day.
What was absolutely fantastic: THERE IS A REAL USABLE GYM here to properly workout! As pictured. Huge kudos to the hotel for this!!! First time in a very long time I could perform a workout. I've recently been to 2 different 5 star hotels with ridiculous "fitness centers" compared to this brilliant gym 🏋️♂️. water and towels are also there. It's 24/24 hours by the way.
We didn't use the spa.
The hotel is quite far out from Lisbon center and tourist quarters. We suggest to take the metro or a cab/uber to get there, then continue on foot. Same to return to the hotel after walking a lot through the Lisbon streets, preferably take a cab or an uber.
What is less fortunate about our stay: we had a room next to the elevator and during the night, returning guests were very noisy, sometimes loudly talking, yelling and laughing next to our room, before heading to their respective rooms.
Conclusion: Full recommendation for this...
