I recently booked a two-night stay at Lisbon Services Apartments Chiado Emenda for me and my partner, and unfortunately, my experience was terrible. From the onset, the automated check-in process was both lengthy and inconvenient, setting a disappointing tone for the remainder of our stay.
When we got to our room, we were immediately greeted by an unpleasant amalgamation of damp and sewer odors, making our stay uncomfortable from the very beginning. The lounge area's furniture did not fare any better, displaying large, visible stains on the sofa and chair which compromised both the aesthetics and cleanliness of the room.
Our dismay deepened as we discovered long black hairs on the bed, pillows, and in the bathroom. Despite reaching out to the provided contact number for assistance, the promised inspection of the property the following morning never materialized, leaving us feeling neglected and unheard.
To compound matters, mold around the windows became apparent, and after just one night, my partner experienced respiratory issues. Faced with these unacceptable conditions, we had no choice but to make the difficult decision to cut our stay short, seeking alternative accommodation and incurring unexpected expenses for a last-minute replacement.
Our short stay in Lisbon was nearly ruined by these unsatisfactory conditions, prompting us to request a refund for the second night, which they refused.
Attempts to address these concerns with the provided contact number were wasted, we were able to speak with someone on the Friday night who promised someone would be round but that never materialized. It also took 4 attempts on the contact number the following day before were able to speak with someone again to tell them that we were leaving and paying to go elsewhere.
In light of this experience, I feel compelled to share my disappointment to alert potential guests about the conditions they may encounter and the lack of responsiveness from the establishment. I sincerely hope that future guests have a more pleasant stay and that the management takes the necessary steps to address these...
Read moreFirst, the pros: Clean, spacious, and LAUNDRY! had to buy soap but well worth it to not have to lug dirty clothes around. full kitchen including dishwasher, good location to nightlife, transit, attractions.| |the cons: LOUD. like the walls are very thin and the street noise is loud, its a bad combination - you hear the party in the building and on the street.|but by far the worst, and the reason for my 3 star rating, is the insane check in process.|when you book, you are told you will get an email 24 hrs before with check in instructions. never happened. in fact, I never received an email of any kind from them, about anything, ever, including receipt. I was luckily able to google and find their website (originally booked through expedia) and did the pre-check in, which involves needing your passport info. When I went to pay the $13 city tax, the website wouldn't load (if you dont get re-directed, click here! and you click it and it closes you out). this happened on a phone, tablet and laptop. so fingers crossed I just showed up and thank god, it worked at the Kiosk located in the lobby |(of note, building is supposed to be locked with a separate key code to access the inside. thank god when we arrived, it wasn't, it was just open, and thats the only reason we were able to get in to the lobby and use the self serve kiosk)|anyway, when we finally got in, my credit card was charged several times for the $13. seems that even though their site crashed, they took my $ (which i got back from the card no problem) |I was able to navigate this but someone not versed in tech (like my parents) would have had a really difficult time. theres no contact info out front or anything to call if you can't get in to even get...
Read moreGreat place to stay in Lisboa. Located directly next to Chiado district and a five miniute walk to Baxia-Chiado metro station (blue line). We stayed in a deluxe studio equipped with a refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, kettle, coffee maker, and toaster. (Oddly, there was no microwave). We prechecked-in online with photos of our passports and paid the 4€ per person/day city tax so that when we arrived, checking in was a breeze. The bathroom was a good size and modern. Water was (quickly) hot and good pressure. Only negative here was a slow drain in the shower, which had a wand and a rain-type showerhead. Also included was a 42" TV on the wall, an armchair, a small table with 3 chairs, and a couch that could become a bed. Housekeeping daily, if desired (sheets and towels), but you can decline on a day by day basis simply by putting the "Do Not Disturb" placard on outside of the door. Good 5G cell service in the area as well. Only real negatives here are the lack of a microwave, which is fairly easily fixed, and the uphill walk from nearly anywhere. (But that's true of most of...
