Read so many positive reviews here so I took a cab through the whole city to get a good coffee and a quick bite before my flight. Was greatly disappointed. Besides the prices being higher compared to other great spots in the city, they are also completely unjustified. I paid 5eur for a a tiny tuna sandwich. A tiny portion of the sandwich for such a price is an insult. The taste was very flat, the bread wasn't fresh, they could have at least toasted it to fake it, but they didn't even bother. Tuna straight from the can and the salad dry as paper.
The design of the furniture, although trying to look hip, is not practical nor very safe. As soon as I sat behind a table I cut myself on the bolt which is sticking out on the level of your knee. If this happened to me, I can only imagine how many other people cut themselves.
WIFI... 😂 there is no wifi!!!! Cmon guys, this is 2017, not cool. Kind of embarrassing. 3G/4G is pretty good around Lisbon. Unfortunately you get only Edge/2G inside of the coffee shop 🤦♂️. I dare you to open 1 single webpage with such reception.
After this experience, believe it or not, I still decided to go fully in and buy 1 bag of their blends. I tried it at home, it's not bad, but nothing extraordinary. I paid 8,50eur for 250grams of roasted beans 💵💵💵 👀 . I have definitely had much better coffee beans/blends for this kind of price.
Tldr: overpriced for what it is. Not cozy, no wifi, no...
Read moreNice coffee, badly served. You will struggle to find a company that hates its customers as much as Fabrica. Over the years, I've watched them expand and decline into a company with a terrible set of core values. They used to have lots of great, exotic blends and thats now cut down to one - which is absolutely fine. The real shame is the disdain with which it is served. I literally got screamed at for asking for a lid for a takeaway cup. I'm not being hyperbolic, I was actually shouted at. It's a coffee shop that opens at 9 AM, exactly after people have already gone to work - very customer centric. What's next? A wine bar that opens at 10 AM? The shops are bare. Recycling is fantastic and there is a way for it all to be done tastefully. This looks a salvage yard and it's just an extension of the "be grateful we even serve you" value set that transcends the culture of this company. It's success looks very much like the rise of Lisbon itself. A growth predicated on rising tourism. But poorly managed for those of us that live and exist here. I've learned to walk past it. You should too. There are so many other places like Copenhagen Coffee that love their customers. Spend your hard earned money with people who also work...
Read moreFábrica Coffee Roasters is widely regarded as one of the top spots for specialty coffee in Lisbon, and to be fair, the quality of their coffee is excellent. However, my experience at this particular branch left a lot to be desired in terms of service. When I asked if they could sweeten my iced coffee, I was met not with a simple yes or no, but with a lecture on how their coffee is already naturally sweet and that adding sugar would undermine the effort they put into it. While I appreciate the craftsmanship behind their coffee, I found the tone condescending and unnecessary — especially since I was merely requesting a basic adjustment, not a complex customization. To make matters worse, the staff discussed adding the sugar in Portuguese, seemingly assuming I wouldn’t understand. In the end, the sugar simply pooled at the bottom under the ice, making for an unpleasant experience. I generally have a lot of respect for cafes that take pride in their craft, but I also expect a level of professionalism and flexibility when dealing with customers. Sadly, the attitude at this location didn’t match the quality of...
