Next Hostel — Hotel in Lisbon

It was my first time to stay at a hostel so I booked a private room. It was real spacious and could actually fit another bed. The hostel occupies 2 or 3 floors in an apartment building so most rooms have no view like mine which looked into the center shaft of the building.||||The bathroom was big too and clean enough. Being a hostel, it lacked the usual amenities of a hotel, but good thing they lent me towel.||||The bed, linen and pillow could be better but again, no complaints for a very reasonably priced hostel.||||Breakfast was basic (cereal, milk, bread, butter, jam and coffee) but filling enough for my 2 mornings in Lisbon.||||Location is fine as it is minutes away from a Metro station. Though I did feel unsafe when I arrived on my first night. A stranger whom I thought was also booked at the hostel talked me up as I was getting into the building, used my obviously tourist demeanor (with luggage and all) and went up with me to later on ask for money and food! He must have been a homeless drug addict, so be careful.||||Lastly, the staff were helpful enough but I feel could be a bit friendlier and more cheerful especially to a first time and solo...

Ostello piuttosto modesto, abbiamo soggiornato in una delle camere al primo piano con il bagno privato. La camera non era il massimo, molto scarna (giusto i letti un armadio e un tavolino piuttosto arraffazzonato e una sedia scalcagnata), e il pavimento non proprio pulitissimo (la biancheria invece era pulita, ma in 4 giorni di soggiorno non l'hanno mai cambiata)... anche il bagno era in discrete condizioni, non brillante come quelli delle pubblicita' ma nemmeno sporco. C'era un solo asciugamano da doccia, ma su richiesta ce ne hanno dato altri 2. La colazione non l'ho testata, ho preferito farla in una pasteleria in zona... alla reception ci sono un paio di pc a disposizione, e se avete un netbook o uno smartphone il wifi e' gratuito.||E' situato in una zona a 10-15 minuti a piedi dal centro, e comunque a due passi dalle fermate di metro, tram e bus. ||Alla reception sono sempre stati molto gentili e disponibili.||Uno dei ragazzi della reception fa anche da servizio navetta per l'aeroporto al prezzo di 10 euro (che e' piu' o meno la tariffa dei taxi ufficiali), e ci e' stato molto utile dato che abbiamo lasciato l'ostello alle 5 di mattina. Credo sinceramente pero' che al prezzo che abbiamo pagato (50 euro/notte per due persone) si trovino a Lisbona delle sistemazioni in pensioncine forse migliori e piu' centrali.||Tutto sommato pero' tenendo conto che ci serviva solo come base per dormire ci si possa adattare...||Avevo letto in qualche recensione che la zona era un po' losca, pieno di prostitute e bande di teppisti... tutto falso. We stayed here for almost a week.
