Praia Sol — Hotel in Loulé

Great hotel. Very close to everything in Quarteira and Vilamoura. Walking distance to restaurants and bars, Quarteira bus station, the marina and the beach front walk.|The staff are all wonderful. Renete, Andre, Luisa, Cesar, John, the housekeeping staff Lina, Christina, and the other wonderful girls working there. We spent 2 months here and found it clean, quiet and comfortable. Breakfast every morning with eggs and bacon. Hubby loved the bacon so much they called him senior bacon! We were appreciative of the little bar/ snack bar in the lobby where you can get sandwiches or pizzas on the nights it was raining or we had been on the go all day. The pool area is beautiful. They were renovating the small pool while we were there and doing some improvement work on the roof. The lobby was spotless and very comfortable. We enjoyed our morning coffee there as we planned our day. Staff was very personable and most spoke good English. Luisa has the best command of English. The owner was very nice and his son also worked there, helping with the desk or bar when it was busy. We enjoyed meeting other guests , many British people there. There's a massage therapist that will come to the hotel if you want to book one. Our room had a mini fridge, a kettle, tea cups/ bags etc. We often borrowed wine glasses or beer mugs from the bar and sat on the balcony and drank our own. We will definitely be back next time we go to Quarteira/ Vilamoura. Still dreaming of the warm Portuguese...

Currently stopping at this hotel, never been here before as normally stay in albuferia but as there are golfer in the group this hotel is the perfect location and a short taxi ride (5mins) to the dom pedro courses. This hotel is lovely and clean and very quiet not many people round the pool there is some music playing in the day but it’s just enough to still be relaxing, they serve pizzas and toasties through the day, the beach is 5mins walk down 1 road from the hotel, villamoura marina is 10 mins walk or abit longer if you walk down the beach front to it. I was abit unsure about breakfast as the reviews don’t do it justice, served 7.30-10, there is enough to choose from, coffee/juice machine fresh orange press, cereal milk&oat milk, yogs fresh fruit, meat and cheese, pancake machine, pastries, bread and toasters, hard boiled eggs (others on request) sausage beans and toms, I would definitely stop at this hotel again and will also recommend to friends and family, we stopped in a family room we chose 3 single beds 2 are next to each other to create a double but with separate bedding then another on the other side of the room then we also had a double room that was directly opposite us so we were together which was nice, reception ordered our taxis each evening for the following morning for golf, if you can reply to my review I’m happy to answer any...

Location - 5 stars Room Air Con - 5 stars (once you have managed to work out how to use it and asked for a 2nd keycard from reception, because they will only give you 1 card when you check in). Hotel Pool - 5 stars Room Cleaning - 4 stars Reception & Bar Staff - 1 star (they dont talk english unless you owe them money, then they find a way, also not enough staff working reception & bar & dining areas). Cleaning Staff - 4 stars (way more helpful than reception staff). Room Decor - 1 star (you could have bought all the furniture in the room from the local car boot for £30. Room Facilities - 1 star (no fridge in room, hairdryer inadequate, no iron, balconies narrow, tv fuzzy). Bar Area/Dining Area - 1 star (20 mins to get a drink, dining area sid's cafe, bar tv always on the Portugese Channel despite Hotel Full of English, Irish & Germans). Bar Drinks - 1 Star (beer not cold enough, worst white coffee in the world).

Hopefully the above will help folk in future. Would and could be a 4 Star Hotel quite easily but judging by reception staff & manager - that will probably never happen. Having said that Location, Air Con & Pool were Great - so the cost of the Hotel was about Fair or just a little...
