We went for lunch seeing the great reviews . I wanted to have sea food and this was a seafood place with great reviews . However later we realised that they sell by kilo and it was so expensive . We chose lobsters as it was relatively cheaper at 95 euro / kilo . We were 4 of us so 4 lobsters would have been ideal but that would have costed us a fortune . So we settled for 3 which costed us like 105 euros . We thought its fine its once in a lifetime meal , afterall you dont eat lobsters everyday. We were expecting a delicious meal given that we were spending a fortune . But holy moly the prawns were undercooked and hard can you believe it ! . Finally our bill came to 140 euros as they had some sort of 18 th century cover charge for a very lack luster plasticy tables and chairs . No idea how come it has a 4.8 stars , completely unsatisfied. I would have given it a 0 if i could . There are many sea food places in Algarve pls dont waste your money here.
Adding after restaurants comments : First of all somebody saying that they dont need reviews shows that they are full of too much pride . Every customer is important they should realise and every feedback too . The reason the prawns were undercooked and hard was it was taken straight out of the freezer and put in the frying pan without thawing . The fish was good quality no doubt but u dont destroy good fish like that . I myself cook seafood a lot so they dont need to teach me . And we are global customers we have eaten seafood in more places than they can imagine . Its important to accept the feedback and use it for your next customer ( maybe thaw the sea food ) not ignore the...
Read moreDuring our recent visit to Restaurante Elcristo, we indulged in a delightful seafood experience, savouring both crab and seabream dishes. The freshness of the seafood was evident, and each dish was prepared to perfection, highlighting the natural flavours of the ingredients. The price is high, so bring a lot of money to this dining experience.
It's important to note that at Elcristo, all seafood is priced per kilogram, and additional items such as bread and toast are charged separately. This pricing structure is common in establishments focusing on fresh, high-quality seafood, allowing patrons to select their preferred quantity and variety.
Our meal, accompanied by two coffees, totalled approximately €100. While some may find this on the higher end, we found the cost to be justified by the exceptional quality and freshness of the seafood, as well as the attentive service provided by the staff.
It's a memorable seafood dining experience with fresh, high-quality dishes and...
Read moreI highly recommend El Cristo Vilamoura. We have been driving down the coast from barcelona and when we looked where to stop in the Algarve we decided to spend a few days in Vilamoura. While walking down Avda Tivoli, we saw the restaurant and was amazed to see all the fresh fish on display. We decided to have dinner there. The best decision we made. Apart from the amazing food, our waiter Rui was so friendly and helped us decide on what food to have. We decided to share a "sapateira" which is a sea crab and "Amêijoas" which is clams for starters and for the main, i had a Doversole and my husband had a saebass. Everything was espectacular. We didn't take any photos, but we will be going back very soon and this time we will remember to take pics of everything. We didn't have dessert as we was far too full. Thank you to all the crew at...
