I’m quite confused by the seemingly negative reputation this rental has on google.
To begin - the location is fantastic. You’re under a main bridge, the Dom Luís I. The first night we were there, my partner and I walked under the bridge and up the streets to the grassy knoll in front of the nearby monastery, before walking on top of the bridge to observe the sunset. The view was unbelievable, and the grassy area was a popular place with a small bar where drinks were served. My partner and I visited many restaurants and bars in the heart of Porto, most of which being a 10-15 minute walk from the apartment.
We stayed on the bottom floor unit, and the apartment was very clean and had everything we needed (soap, shampoo/conditioner, trash bags, dishwasher pods, kitchenware, fridge, dishwasher, etc). The apartment was equipped with air conditioning. The patio doors have multiple functions depending on which orientation the handle is, which I think has confused some guests and lead them to believe the patio door was broken. On our floor, we were very confused by the reviews about loud noise. The outside area is fairly busy during the day with there being a coffee shop/bar next door, but the hours of the shop are limited and DO NOT extend past sunset. The noise of the tram above is extremely manageable and did not bother us at all.
And finally, the stairs. Porto and the rest of Portugal are very walk-oriented and many of the cities are quite hilly with many staircases and steep streets/sidewalks. If you cannot handle long staircases or hilly cities, you should not visit PORTUGAL let alone this apartment. Do not blame these units for your inability to climb up stairs and walk around a beautiful city.
5 stars for this unit, the view is absolutely gorgeous and the property manager is great about communicating with you. We were able to arrange transport to and from train stations/airports with the property manages for very reasonable prices. The location is fantastic and anyone who is able to handle a large staircase and navigate a hilly/steep city should definitely consider staying here. Thank you so much FeelPorto, the unit was wonderful and we were extremely satisfied...
Read moreThis stay was the highlight of our two week trip to Portugal. My partner and I stayed here for three nights. Check in was so easy. We arranged transport from the train station at Camphana to the apartment and they were on time and helped us with our bags. The room was so clean and the view is breathtaking. We sat on the balcony and drank a glass of wine each night. While the street is busy during daylight, you cannot head any noise and the street is quiet at night. The bed is comfortable, so we slept peacefully each night. The location is wonderful. We could walk everywhere with ease and felt safe always. The wifi is great, the host is so kind, and we loved it. If you cannot walk the stairs to the apartment because you are out of shape, that is YOUR OWN PROBLEM. DO NOT COME TO THE COUNTRY IF YOU CANNOT HANDLE STAIRS OR HILLS.
We would recommend this place to anyone. We...
Read moreVery centrally located, well equipped and relatively spacey small appartment. Good breakfast and helpful service. Even though there are certain disadvantages of the place (due to the closeness of the metro and the river bank it was sometimes noisy; you need to climb quite a few stairs with luggage; the balcony door was broken, and we had some issue with being locked in and having no keys as well like some others) I did...
