Amazing restaurant: Amazing food, 5 star service, great location with the view of the bridge and Duoro river. Get an outdoor seat by the river and enjoy food and the atmosphere with the people walking by. Our host and owner Vasco (couldn’t have a more appropriate Portuguese name) was gracious, very helpful and has a great taste in wine. He gave us fab recommendations on wine to pair with our food. The pesto butter and smoked paprika butter are house made and a great start with the bread from the house. The grilled scallops fettuccine was divine and the fettuccine with fiery scrimp topped that. Peñacotta was the best we have tasted with their twist with Kiwi fruit. Tiramisu, the classic Italian dessert is not to be missed. A great restaurant which has a new ownership, chef and staff flans it was an excerpt change of pace for us between our Portuguese meals during our...

For some of the most expensive food I have paid for at a restaurant in Porto, you would expect the experience to be at least ok. Unfortunately, the entire evening was a costly disaster.

Firstly, the service was slow and the staff were rude. After waiting for a long time for our food to arrive, the starters and mains came out at the same time. The mains were freezing cold, the portion sizes were very small and the prawns were very over cooked. Overall, it tasted terrible. I dare say, potentially the worst Italian food I’ve ever had. For some of the most expensive food I have paid at a restaurant in Porto, you would expect it to be at least ok. We tried to highlight this to the staff but they avoided us.

No apology for the poor food and no compensation for the wait or errors made by the staff.

Would not...

Spectacular food and service! Our service was 10/10 stars. The gentleman recommended a sangria and lemon cream cake dessert that are not featured on the regular menu. Both were unforgettable! Truly one of the best sangrias I’ve had, the sweetness of the pineapple and pomegranate was perfectly balance by cinnamon. We also had a bread basket with pesto and paprika butter- I’ve never had a paprika butter and all I can say is boy, I can’t wait to try out a recipe when I get home! A younger waiter also erroneously gave us the wrong tab and the gentleman with the excellent suggestions quickly swooped in and corrected the error. He was truly an excellent server and when complimented very humbly stated “I just love my job”. Can’t wait to go back before our time...

Wow – what an amazing kitchen! The codfish on pumpkin sauce with spinach was brilliant: tender, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. The Spaghetti al Pomodoro and Carbonara – true Italian-level quality you wouldn’t expect to find in Porto. On top of that, the portions are generous, so you definitely won’t leave hungry. Like most places along the Douro, it’s a bit tight inside, and while the service is friendly and attentive, it doesn’t quite reach the exceptional standard of the kitchen. Still – if you want to eat really well by the river in Porto, this place is a must. The chef is delivering fine-dining quality in a relaxed riverside setting!
