Booked this Hotel based on how close it seemed to the "main square" of Porto. Little did I realise how fantastic the location was!!||It is 10mins walk from the Main Metro station, Trindade. By the way i would highly recommend traveling around Porto by metro, once you have the zones sorted in your head it is simple, fast and safe/clean!||The area of Batalha, where the hotel is located, is about 1 minutes walk from the main shopping street, less than 5 minutes to the nearest decent supermarket (dolce), 5 minutes walk to Avenue dos Aliados (Porto sign etc), 2 minutes (right outside hotel) to a stunning view of Porto's most famous iconic bridges. A few minutes more takes you to a bridge further inland that gives stunning views over the Dom Luis bridge, ribeira district etc.||The Hotel itself - basic (previously easyjet hotel) but has everything we needed. Check in was easy, as was check out. We opted for the late check out which was great for our evening flight.||There are two lifts, a small breakfast room where there is a sufficient buffet available (pastries, breads, cereals, fruit, yoghurts etc) and we didnt hear any noise through the walls. The rooms are a good size with air con included (God send). Our pillows were a bit on the small side but overall, for the price, we couldnt complain. The bathroom is a little quirky but serves its purpose.||Wifi worked and easy to connect to. Bathroom had showergel so need for ours. ||All staff were polite and helpful and the only reason i havnt given the Hotel a 5 star rating is purely down to it being a budget chain and no fridge/hair dryer etc in the room. I would, however, absolutely...
Read moreAbsolutely disgusting. Health hazard. Scam-like behavior.
This was not just disappointing – this was shocking. I stayed at limehome Porto Herculano and it’s hands down one of the worst places I’ve ever booked in my life.
The room was filthy, worn down, and miles away from the photos shown online. There was visible black mold in the bathroom tiles, and after just one night sleeping in their bed, I broke out in a painful rash. I felt sick, unsafe, and honestly, violated.
I had reached out in advance asking for a second room. Alicia, from their team, told me there were no rooms available. A lie. I found and booked one myself via Booking.com just minutes later. No explanation. No apology.
Then I tried to report the health issues, the mold, and the rash. Marcia replied once, dodged the actual complaint, and since then: radio silence. No help. No refund. Not even a “sorry.” Just pure ignorance.
This place is a scam wrapped in an app, pretending to be some modern, digital hospitality concept. In reality, it’s a health risk, and the staff disappears the moment something goes wrong.
My colleague and I left immediately and booked another hotel. Out of our own pocket. And the fact that Limehome dares to call this “hosting with heart” is just insulting.
Avoid this property like the plague. Honestly, I wouldn’t wish this...
Read moreThe hotel is in a good location, fairly close to the train station. Front staff extremely friendly, kind and helpful. There are several areas that need dramatic improvement. The Wi-Fi is abysmal. It is glacially slow if it shows up at all. Often times in a space of 10 minutes you have to login four times. When you do have it, it takes over a minute to load a single page of text. It is glacially slow if it shows up at all. For foreign travelers, Wi-Fi is essential. I have no problem with a basic room, but there’s absolutely nothing on the walls. It’s spartan. The bed has two tiny pillows (for 2 people) and you can feel the mattress springs when you lay down. I wanted to call the front desk for more pillows, but the phone had absolutely no instructions and no pamphlet or info card was provided in the room for how to work the phone. They don’t provide bar soap or shampoo in the bathroom. There is one dispenser between the shower and the sink that dispenses cheap gel. There’s also no shower stall. Just a curtain you wrap around a shower head and an indentation in the floor where the shower water actually travels along a groove cut out to a drain under the sink. Also the shower curtains are very moldy. The staff has a lot of heart, but things could be made much better. I can...
