Pros: -Great sunset view from rooftop Pool (with a caveat). -Friendly and accommodating / helpful front desk staff. -Air con rooms (but never goes lower than 21C in the room during our heatwave stay) In room fridge with space for personal use Spotlessly clean rooms Reasonable noise insulation via the windows and internal walls, we never heard neighbours or excessive night time street noise. Great rainfall shower with immediate hot water and easy controls Reception smelt lovely and all communal spaces were clean and well kept Daily housekeeping of high standard Great location, easy 8 minute walk to the Luis Bridge and 5 minute walk to a great little square with many places to eat
Cons: Rock hard twin mattress set up we could not sleep on - we tried with reception (who asked housekeeping) to get them to switch this to a double with a mattress topper as reviews suggest this is an issue only with the twin bed set up. But something was getting lost in translation between reception and housekeeping and we ended up with the twin beds with a mattress topper which was a bit better but still extremely hard bed set up). We could never sleep properly while their. They were also at full capacity and no room change was available 1st floor view of a building site BUT not the hotels fault and the windows did provide reasonable sound insulation - there is a lot of building work ongoing all over Porto They desperately need to clean the glass on the rooftop pool, it would be such an easy win. its a gorgeous spot and its just hard water staining on the glass, everyone who visited the pool that we heard said the same thing. Only give two hand towels and two big towels per room so if you showered in morning then wanted to shower before you went out at night your towels were still wet, not a big deal but still could be better
I think this could be great and probably is for most people - however not being able to sleep because the beds were so hard kind of cancelled out (for us) the many positives, its hard to have a good holiday...
Read moreWonderful spacious rooms & speedy internet, many power & USB locations for all your electronics, reasonable bed (could be a little less firm), excellent dreamy pillows & great use of a mini fridge. Cleaning staff were great but the hotel's toiletries are terrible quality - the shampoo doesn't lather up & the conditioner is so useless I used the entire huge bottle in one shower as it doesn't coat the hair! The swimming pool on the rooftop does not operate during the winter, which was disappointing as I had specifically chosen this hotel for the pool & their website doesn't say the pool is seasonal only. The restaurant food quality is just ok & pricey considering the small portions, however the bar & restaurant staff are fantastic & customer focused. I loved the complimentary flavoured waters available in the foyer - very refreshing & the huge green apples were the perfect overnight snack when working late into the morning hours. The front desk staff were always professional, everyone was groomed beautifully & they were helpful with restaurant suggestions & directions for sightseeing. One female staff let me down on one occasion, not getting back to me about whether she was able to get me a dinner reservation so I didn't know if I did or didn't have one for a big occasion. I had to keep calling the hotel & asking them to check, instead of just receiving a simple text message that stated "yes" or "no" & I would have been fine with "no", I just needed notification of some type! Hotel is in a safe area & is in the middle of the lower river & the upper town, walk to everywhere in the old town & about 20mins walk to main metro station & buses...
Read moreWe had a short stay at NH Porto Jardim in February, and I still fondly remember how pleasant our experience was. It was truly one of the best stays we’ve ever had. The staff were incredibly attentive and helpful. They even offered us a complimentary room upgrade, which was a warm and welcoming gesture. Later, after we had settled into the room, they knocked on our door and surprised us with a thoughtful treat—some desserts (photos attached). This act of kindness truly made our day.
We were traveling with our cat, who had just undergone surgery the day before. Thankfully, the hotel is pet-friendly (which is a huge plus for us), but we were still a bit nervous about the trip. The room upgrade and the complimentary desserts helped us relax, and we really appreciated the extra kindness.
As for the room, it was modern, bright, and beautifully designed. It included all the essentials for the shower (gel, shampoo, conditioner), as well as a kettle and a coffee machine with tea and coffee capsules. The view from the room was stunning, and even our cat enjoyed gazing out.
The breakfast was excellent—everything we could have wished for. The location was also convenient, within a 10-minute walk to the main attractions. Parking wasn’t an issue either, as there were several nearby streets with available spots.
Overall, we’ve already recommended this hotel to our friends, and whenever we return to Porto, we will definitely stay here again. NH Hotels are always reliable, but in this case, the staff went above and beyond, making our stay truly...
