Sushi buffet also including a big selection of Chinese starters. I was surprised by the quality of this place. There was plenty of food to choose from and the chefs were constantly coming out with fresh dishes from the kitchen to add to the buffet. It was kept nice and clean. We read in a review that the sushi was lacking fish and was all about rice and fruit, but we didn’t see that. On the contrary you had plenty of generous fish sushi as well as sushi with vegetables, fruit and cream cheese. The warm part of the buffet includes various types of shrimps, noodles, chicken, pork, veal, samosa, spring rolls and even French fries and pizza slices. Drink were at a reasonable price (Bottled Super Bock 1,5 €, sparkling water 1,5 €). We paid the “evening price” at 9,90 € per adult and a child (11 years) at half price. Total less than 42 € for a family of four having a complete meal including warm starters, fresh sushi, desserts and drinks. The staff is friendly and professional and the ambient is cosy. Important! You can only pay cash or with Portuguese credit card! They do not accept international Visa/MasterCard or the like.
I highly recommend Tokyo Sushi, we had a very...
Read moreI'm baffled as to how this place has a 4.2 rating on Google…….
I arrived at 18:40 for a 7 PM reservation and immediately noticed the absence of steam from the Bain Marie and the unlit heat lamps above.
Upon entering and beginning my meal, it was evident that the food had been sitting out for quite some time. It was nearly cold and lacked flavor. I sampled various chicken dishes, noodles, spring rolls, and chips; everything seemed reheated and stale.
The chips were the final straw. It’s not hard to tell when food has been left out all day or reheated, and this was definitely the case here.
I can't comment on the sushi as I didn't try it, but based on the rest, this place seems like a breeding ground for bacteria. I highly recommend avoiding it.
I had 1.5 plates, I left hungry.
Additionally, they don't accept card payments, which is typical for many Asian establishments. The reason? Likely to evade taxes in the host country—a practice I've noticed in the UK as well.
Disgraceful.
If you see this. You’ve...
Read moreYou know how sometimes you choose to ignore the bad reviews of a restaurant and give it a try anyways? Maybe because the reviewer was too picky, had way too high expectations, or just a bad day. Well, we did so and tried this restaurant. Please do not repeat our mistake. What they call "maki" rolls have the weirdest combination of ingredients inside and are all the same! only the topping is different and the flavors are just wrong. The noodles tasted like urine (this is not an exaggeration, several tables had unfinished dishes of noodles because it tasted and smelt like pure urea). And just so you have a glimpse of the standards of this restaurant: take a look at the small bowl with water where they put the spoon to serve ice cream and proceed to scream upon noticing that the water has become a soupy mess of brown color since only God knows when was the last time someone changed it.
Their only saving grace was the sweet & sour chicken, and that's why they get 1 star. No wonder it was the...
