This one is going to be fun. LEGAL MATTERS. Buckle up if you want to see why this hotel is an absolute scam. On the morning of 9/10/25, my husband and I woke up to discover an entire bag of children's clothing and jewelry we had bought for our child was taken out of our room. We made our way to the front desk to make them aware of the situation, and we were told that they were going to speak to their staff. In the meantime, we made our way to the police station to file a report. Upon our return, I asked for a second time what the resolution would be and that I had notified authorities. Regina's is the name of the woman I spoke with. She told me that she was going to contact someone. Very little urgency, may I add. Upon my third return to the front desk. Regina had gone home. Her colleague called her, and I was able to speak with her over the phone. I was told that her cleaning staff did indeed take the bag as it was SEEN ON VIDEO SURVELLIENCE that the hotel has. Her staff has told her they "accidently" took the bag and thought that it was trash. She told me, her staff wasn't trying to "hide" on camera, so she'd take their word for it. It's funny how your cleaning staff "thought" it was trash (with price tags and receipts in the bag) but the actual trash can was filled to the brim and was not even EMPTIED. Guess they were too focused on the bag of new clothes. upon our arrival home I also noticed my gold bracelet ALSO missing. I was told by Regina herself that my husband and I would be reimbursed for the total amount, since it was evident that the staff had taken the bag. She instructed us to email her with all the information and total. Funny, it's now been a week and Regina is nowhere to be found. I'm sure she thought nothing would come from this matter. Well Regina, I am a native of the country who frequently travels back and forth. This has since been passed to our lawyer. Your moral ethic as a Portuguese citizen is disgusting and to brush this off as if it was a slight mistake is even more despicable. Shame on you and shame on your establishment. I have since filed a dispute for the charges. I suggest you guys handle...

Check which one you book!|The room was large with a sizable bathroom with a good shower and large towels. There is a hairdryer in the bathroom. The beds were comfortable with extra blankets in the wardrobe if required.|The room also included a mini bar to use as a fridge, free safe, free WFi, and tv with some English channels and tea and coffee facilities. I asked to borrow an iron, and staff popped one up to the room with an ironing board. The room was cleaned daily, and there was air con (not needed in December)|Breakfast started at 7-10 a.m., and there was plenty of choice of usual hot and cold dishes.|The only reason I didn't give the hotel 5 stars is that we could hear the next door room talking. A male voice was jabbering on loudly for hours! The reception area was pleasant with good seating areas. Staff gave us a map on check-in, but he was a bit vague with walking directions to the city, so we got lost and walked miles! We stuck to the trams (that were cheap to use)|There is a shopping centre behind the hotel with a supermarket. There is also a huge food hall located a 2 minute walk away. There are 38 varying food and drink stands, which are all reasonably priced. There is also a bar with a restaurant within a 3 minute walk. It had a fantastic atmosphere and very cheap drinks, only €2.60 a glass of wine!|This is an excellent hotel in a great area. It felt safe walking around it at night.|We used the Bolt app to book an early morning taxi to the airport. This...
Read moreSeven months ago, I booked a room at HF Tuela Porto and asked them if it would be possible to book one of the balcony rooms and they told me it wasn't possible because I would have to wait until I arrived in Porto to request the balcony room. I explained that I was taking my wife to Porto for our 40th wedding anniversary and this would make it special for us. They still insisted that I couldn't reserve the room in advance. Ok, I guess I'll just ask when we arrive.||||Fast forward, the day of our anniversary, we arrive and the HF Tuela Porto tells us we are now booked in their sister hotel, HF Tuela Porto ala Sur. We go through to the ala sur hotel and find a lobby so small, we can't fit into it, with our carry-on luggage.||||I asked about a balcony room and they told me they were all taken. They would see what they could do for the following day. OK, no luck today, maybe tomorrow.||||We get to our room and it's the smallest room I've ever stayed in. I have travelled all over Europe and I've stayed in pensions and hostels but never a room this small. Admittedly, there was a bathroom but, it was so small you couldn't open the shower door while the bathroom door was closed.||||The room had no furniture, other than a rock-hard bed. No chair, no night stand, no lamp, nothing. The closet was a half closet where a dress couldn't be hung up. When I complained, the staff was unpleasant and they told me the hotel was fully booked for the next week and we wouldn't be able to have another room and we couldn't have a refund to seek another room.||||We hated the room, the staff was unfriendly and I will never stay in an HF brand hotel again. If I could have given them zero stars,...
