Oporto Yellow Villas — Hotel in Porto

A belated review from our stay at the end of May! What a find! On arrival we were greeted by the exceptional Alexandra. She spent quite some time with us, firstly showing us the apartment and then noting on a map all the best places to visit which was so helpful. Our 3 day trip was fabulous and it was lovely to have a terrace to sit out and enjoy breakfast in the sunshine. The apartment, as well as being clean was well furnished and the touches of water in the fridge, fresh rolls and fruit as well as dishwasher tablets etc was well received. Without a doubt though the biggest asset is Alexandra. Our flight home was cancelled at very short notice and Alexandra did all she could to assist us in finding alternative flights and eventually hiring a car and driving 5 hours to Faro through the night to get a flight home from there. At no point did Alexandra make us feel we were in the way and she even offered that if we needed help to call her whatever the time of night! She also texted us on our long drive to check on us. The Yellow Villa and Alexandra made our stay in Porto fantastic. We spent 5 days with 3 kids in the appartement. The place was so well equiped, we missed nothing from the safety case (kids are always hurting themselves) to the kitchen and laundry equipment. It was really appreciated by the whole family to have milk, wine and juice in the fridge! We found the place a bit noisy but probably because we are used to quiet home with no neighbors. We followed all the great advice from Alexandra for best places to visit, where to eat and how to move from one place to another. We are very grateful for Yellow Villa flexibility when we had the terrible bad news of our initial flight cancellation. Recently stayed at the apartments for a city break and to attend a concert at the Casa da Musica. The apartments are excellent with everything that you might need for a short or long visit. The host is exceelent. She was able to accommodate an early arrival and then took extra time to point out places to visit and eat during our stay. The Mercado Bom Successo is on the next block and this has a great choice of places to eat and drink. You can walk into the city centre, take the metro from the nearby station or use one of the many taxis which are inexpensive. A great place to stay and Porto is a great...
