New Sport Hostel in Porto — Hotel in Porto

Terrible.

The hostel is on the second floor of a building and there is no visible sign. We took a while to find. We arrived to store the bag before check-in time, and the atmosphere was completely messy. An employee stowed our bag without checking our reservation to see if we were really guests. The room where our suitcase was stored was dirty and very messy. Then we returned to make the check-in and enter the room. The room is absolutely nothing special. There are lockers, but no locks (you have to buy). And it was well ventilated because there was a balcony.

The bathroom smelled bad and the shower didn't work well. There was no pressure in the water. The water was or extremely hot or cold. And on the second day the drain was full of hair and so on until our checkout (which means there was no cleaning). Despite being marked on the booking which includes towels, a fee of 2 € is charged for them.

The kitchen also smelled bad and very dirty, with leftover food scattered on the counter and the trash cans completely full.

Other than that, the reception service was not good either.

This was my first place in Porto when I arrived last December 2019. I wish to share my experience to let people know the truth. It is a budget place, very simple and the beds are full of fleas. To get a cheaper price the owner offer one month stay at 200 euro without any refund possibility. I was in the feminine dorm sharing the room with other 3 people, all at the same conditions. One of the girl has been compelled to go to the hospital due to the bad bites. The owner tried to cheat everyone of us offering another bed (with the same condition) and reassuring us to make deep cleaning and spraying killer. I discovered that the spray killer used was actually just for the cockroach and nothing was changing day by day. Very bad! So now book it!!!!!

I booked via Booking.com they took my money. I arrived at night (suppose to be 24/7 reception) and kissed the handle! All closed, dark, no one there, phone doesn’t work. Me and 20 other people at 2am in the morning standing and thinking what to do. I was forced to stay this night in expensive hotel as I had to find anything. I contacted booking and they initiated refund but as it was cancellation I don’t have possibility to write a review on booking.com page!
