OPO.APT - Art Deco Apartments in Oporto's Center — Hotel in Porto

My family of four (two toddlers ages 3 and 1) stayed here for 1.5 months and it was a perfect base for getting to know Porto. It is an easy walking distance to all kinds of transportations, shops and cafes, and tourist spots. All the nice parks like the really beautiful Jardins do Palácio de Cristal are nearby too.

The apartment itself, meanwhile, is really comfortable, clean and spacious. We arrived winter and the flat is well insulated and we were never overly cold, which is saying a lot because this is my first winter experience , coming from a tropical country! We didn't even use the ACs a lot but they provided enough warmth and comfort when on. All amenities you would need for a good stay - whether short- or long-term - are provided, including kitchenware and a washer. There is also a well-maintained garden with a table where you could have brunch or snacks!

The best part of this stay, however, would be the host and his team. João is the best Airbnb host and was kind and accommodating from even before I booked; he answered all my questions and was very helpful. Maria, who welcomed us and was in charge of the weekly cleaning of the flat, is so friendly and approachable. My kids love her so much, and she made us feel at home.

Five stars all throughout and would definitely recommend this place to anybody!

Our family of 5 stayed at João's apartment during our Carnival break and had a great time. We stayed in the ground floor apartment which had a outside patio with a dining area. The place is immaculately clean, modern and very cosy. The beds are comfortable and the small kitchen is more than enough for a short stay. Localization is great! Close to a shopping center 'Shopping Cidade do Porto' where you can find the supermarket 'Froiz' which is open till late and where you stock up on breakfast essentials. Right next to the shopping center is 'Mercado Bom Sucesso' which is a great place for meals. There are many different types of cusine to choose from and the prices are reasonable. Also within walking distance is Casa da Musica and a lovely café Casinha Boutique Café where you can relax for a coffee and cake. A little further away is the fantastic Parque da Cidade do Porto. A great place for a walk or even a picnic. We had stayed at João's 1st floor apartment a little over a year ago and also had a great time! João was a fantastic host and incredibly helpful. Probably the worst place I've ever stayed in my 20 years of travel. The apartment was covered in black mold. The place was incredibly damp including the bedding. The host was unresponsive and incredibly rude. It lacked basic ammenities like soap in the bathroom, cooking utensils, etc. The fans in two rooms didn't work which contributed to the mold issue. The owner clearly tried to cover up the mold by painting over it in some rooms but the mold was coming through the paint. This place is unsafe to stay in. We moved as soon as we could.
