What a gem of a place! We were craving a good curry and this did not disappoint at all. We ordered a achari tikka which had a bit too much mustard for my liking but my mum loved it. For our mains we ordered palak paneer, lamb bhuna, Balti chicken, jeera rice and chicken biryani with four garlic naans. We ate like kings and very dish was very flavourful and satisfying. I just wish there was some more paneer in the saag paneer. It was soo good! The lamb bhuna had tender morsels of lamb which were a delight to enjoy with the garlic naan.

Their garlic naans are incredible. Thin and soft but with just a touch or crispiness and they are brought to the table piping hot. Probably the best I have ever had!

The portions are very generous and the service is very warm, attentive and polite. The restaurant is clean with a very simple decor but we came for the food and we were in for a real treat. We took containers home with our leftovers and will enjoy them again tomorrow!

Wish we had some photos to share but we were starving and dive right into the food...

Tasty Food But Pompous Service

This Indian restaurant serves up deliciously flavorful curries. The complex layers of spices in dishes like the chicken tikka balti and daal makhani are executed perfectly. The food tastes like it was made with care and authenticity, though be warned it does take a while to arrive at your table.

However, our experience was diminished by the overly pompous waiter who acted inconvenienced by our requests. When we asked that our naan bread be served at the same time as our curry (which was not the case with the first curry we ordered), he let out an exasperated sigh and made us feel like children asking for too much candy before dinner. Even small requests were treated as major impositions on his time. However, after a while he warmed a little, and smiled as he gave our kids lollipops at the end.

While we enjoyed the incredible food and would certainly return, the experience would be vastly improved with more hospitable service from the outset. The waiter's pompous attitude unfortunately affected the overall...

Ordered 2 lamb curry dishes for takeaway today. Upon returning home, we were immediately surprised of how small the portions were. There were hardly 3 or 4 pieces of lamb in each of the dishes. For the price we paid, we feel we got scammed. The taste is irrelevant at this point.

We were still starving after eating our appetizers (bc that's what they were) and had to order out again from a different restaurant.

There's no excuses that can satisfactorily justify such small portions. Maybe it's because the restaurant owner thought we were tourists and our opinion won't matter? Whatever the reason, we are locals and will be finding an alternative Indian restaurant to eat at.

It is very rare for me to write a review on here, but I feel compelled to warn others because I don't want to see anyone get ripped off. I will also be warning my friends who live in the neighborhood.

If this is an honest mistake from the restaurant, then they should attempt to make it right immediately. Until then, we won't...

💥2nd visit.🤔 Nearly empty restaurant. Ordered Chicken “BOTI” & Paratha to takeaway. Rohit- asked 2 “cooks” sitting doing nothing- something in Punjabi ( or Hindi). Neh. (No) was the response. Meaning they wouldn’t prepare it. No alternative was suggested. I said GOOD-BYE. I can no longer reccd Divine India, based on this insulting experience. North Indian food is very common throughout many Cities around the world. Divine INDIA- offers a very good example of that cuisine-In PORTO. Located between the METRO & Lusiados Hospital in Porto it is well located for an enjoyable afternoon meal. The Lunch Specials were either Plant-Based (Vegetarian) or Meat Protein. Instead of Chana Masala, I selected The Chicken Curry over The Chicken Vindaloo & other choices. It was a wonderfully richly-spiced version made with boneless White Meat Chicken ( personally I would have preferred- Dark Meat) , served with a perfectly prepared Tandoori cooked Naan bread. The ambiance is clean and simple.

As an individual of Indian descent, I hold a deep appreciation for the rich and diverse flavors of Indian cuisine. During a recent dining experience, my companions and I decided to indulge in some papadum accompanied by an assortment of chutneys. However, I must admit that the inclusion of mint sauce left me rather disappointed. It takes a certain level of expertise to overlook such a fundamental recipe. Moving on, we proceeded to order daal makhni, which was satisfactory in taste, and kadhai paneer, which unfortunately lacked any discernible flavor. Nevertheless, I must commend the chef for achieving a remarkable level of tenderness in the paneer. To complement our meal, we opted for naan, which turned out to be one of the most exceptional naans I have ever had the pleasure of tasting, even surpassing those I have enjoyed in India. Reflecting on this experience, I am hopeful that I will have the opportunity to revisit this establishment during my next trip to Porto.

We ate dinner here for the first time at 7pm on a Tuesday night (without a reservation). I had the chicken korma and hubby had the spicy lamb vindaloo. Our friends had a lentil dish and another lamb dish. All were amazing! We had two garlic naans, a cheese naan, two white rice, a bottle of water, a bottle of wine and a glass of red wine. The service was fantastic! The bill was about 85€ for all of that delicious food. We will definitely be back!
