We were so lucky to eat the last meal of our trip to Portugal at Restaurante Universal, as it was a wonderful experience to add to the many great memories of our holiday. The welcome was so friendly, and the staff were great in helping me use my limited Portuguese to understand the menu and some of its Brazilian influences. Highly recommend this family runs local restaurant. The homemade food was exceptionally well cooked by couple chef, Carlos & Mabília. Their daughter speaks very good English, warm welcoming service. The restaurant established since 2006.

Ordered vegetable soup and grilled squid with potatoes and vegetables. They were freshly made upon order. Affordable prices. Good portion. Lovely local ambience.

Very pleasant experience on Universal restaurant, a fimiliar place with very good food and a excellent price. During lunch time is always packed and some waiting time, but if you want a fresh and delicious food it worth the time waiting, wich is 10 to 15 minutes. I do recomend because it is not a place with turists in mind, it is place for locals and we know if you want a real taste of city you have to go where...
