Casa Do Conto||If you enjoy the finer things in life, have style and appreciate the best customer service and a personal approach this hotel is for you. ||The styling of the interior in this hotel is just breathtaking and in my opinion I think it would be difficult for anyone to disagree. The furniture in the breakfast area and the lounge, as well as the bedrooms is worthy of a Centre spread in a home magazine. Sometimes I didn’t want to leave to enjoy the City. ||Breakfast is amazing at Casa Do Conto. Simple, elegant but plentiful and all presented like it was fit for a King. The staff will happily cook your eggs exactly as you wish to order and mine tasted great everyday. Homemade ‘daily’ changeable items made each breakfast that little bit different and exciting. ||The staff. Well. They really do bring Casa Do Conto alive. Everyone working here is so lovely and helpful and they really did make us feel special. Super helpful with local knowledge and recommendations and always with a genuine smile. ||Other reports say a Nespresso machine would be good in the room and I agree but I did notice one in the lounge too and to be honest it made me get down into the beautiful room with the very tasteful music playing at breakfast that little bit earlier. ||Location we thought was perfect. Out of the hustle and bustle but a short enough walk to the Centre. We tried to mix up the walk to and from the hotel by taking different routes. ||And finally. The Sister hotel ‘Tipografia Do Conto’ that you have access to is just as wonderful. Bit more hip with a bar but a must see if you stay here. Even to be nosey. |We had a few drinks late evening in the garden and was most pleasurable. Staff equally good as Conto. ||I could live in...
Read moreI stayed at Villa Lóios by Casa do Conto and it completely ruined my vacation in Porto. I took a risk booking them without any significant or reputable reviews on Hotels.com and I now regret it.||||The day before check-in, I was messaged privately by staff requesting I provide my credit card information over email or phone, which violates the policies of Hotels.com to protect customers. This appeared like a scam, so I spent hours that night talking with Hotels.com who notified them that they can't ask me to release my credit card info in this way. At check-in, an agent asked me to pay them directly when I was under the impression that I should be paying Hotels.com, so I tried to explain that I was already a bit uncomfortable given their breach of booking policy, and needed to verify with Hotels.com first. The agent puts me on the phone with the Casa do Conto manager (Raul), who thoroughly traumatized me by yelling furiously at me over the phone nonstop saying I didn't pay and I needed to pay immediately. It was incredibly unprofessional for a hospitality employee to abuse a guest this way. After filing a complaint the company did nothing||||The apartment itself was overall fine with IKEA-ish furnishing/supplies typical of these apartment share mega-hosts. But the AC was a joke and only reaches the entrance area, the apt door handle broke off within an hour of my stay and cut my finger, WiFi was unusable for 2 of 3 nights, and only after complaining multiple times did they set up a mobile hotspot on...
Read moreBooked a room here. This hotel is part of the Mr. and Mrs. Smith hotel line that recently partnered with Hyatt. Much to the dismay of many Hyatt members, Hyatt dropped their partnership with SLH (Small Luxury Hotels) and put this line in it's place. I'm a Globalist with Hyatt (Meaning I stayed more than 2 months with Hyatt and Hyatt partner hotels in 2023). This was my first experience with the new partners.||Wife and I had a trip planned to Porto Portugal for our 10-year anniversary. Unfortunately, she had a medical emergency and we had to cancel our trip. We gave this hotel more than 24 hours' notice on the cancellation. But to add insult to my wife's medical emergency, this hotel (booked through Hyatt) kept the entirety of our 5 night's stay. They said they have a one-week cancellation policy that I was not made aware of. ||This was the first trip we've ever had to cancel, and we travel quite a bit. I can tell you the unprofessional and inconsiderate gesture shown to us all but guarantees we'd never stay here or any Mr. and Mrs. Smith Hotel. God forbid anyone have an emergency within a week of their trip. No refund of at least 3 days, no credit for a future trip. They could have done something, and they literally...
