Positives: The restaurant’s ambiance was inviting, with a well-designed interior that created a pleasant atmosphere for dining. The service, though not without minor issues, was generally attentive and efficient. The staff ensured that our orders were taken promptly and checked in with us at intervals, which helped make the dining experience feel comfortable at first.
Negatives: Unfortunately, the quality of the food left much to be desired, overshadowing any positive aspects of our experience. We ordered a range of dishes, hoping to explore a broad spectrum of flavors. However, each dish seemed to miss the mark.
The mixed grill platter, which we anticipated would be a highlight, was particularly disappointing. The meat was dry and bland, lacking the succulence and seasoning expected in a well-prepared grill. Even simple items, like the potatoes, were unpleasant, carrying an odd fishy taste as if they’d been fried in old or reused oil, rendering them nearly inedible.
The hummus, rather than being smooth and balanced, had an overpowering garlic flavor that was difficult to enjoy. The kibbeh, a classic dish, arrived partially undercooked and overly greasy, making it unappetizing. The shish barak, typically a delicate and flavorful item, was dry and lacking in seasoning, leaving it devoid of any real appeal. The accompanying yogurt sauce had a curdled texture, further diminishing the dish’s quality.
Overall, the meal felt poorly prepared and lacking in attention to basic culinary details. The disappointing food overshadowed what could have been an enjoyable evening, leaving me with little reason to recommend...
Read moreLast Thursday was not my day! After some reservation drama we had at another restaurant, we called Nisrine and placed a booking for 15 people. The hostess was beyond lovely and accommodating and promised to help seat us, hearing my frustration. She asked me for at least 20 minutes for the table to be ready, which we were okay with. We took our group around and arrived at the restaurant 30 minutes later, giving the restaurant a breather. We arrived there. We were welcomed warmly by the hostess and were asked to wait a bit more as the table was not ready yet. We stood out across the street from Nisrine, waiting our turn. Fifteen people stood before the manager, who decided to keep giving tables left and right to all newcomers while we waited! I sincerely do not appreciate his approach or the edgy attitude he gave me when I reached out to follow up on the matter. I understand the pressure and workload, but he lacks professional communication skills! The food was beyond amazing. My only friendly recommendation is to train the...
Read moreThe food isn't good. Whoever is cooking knows nothing about cooking and for sure doesn't know how to cook Lebanese food. I was the only customer in the restaurant and that should have been my warning sign.
The shish barak (dumplings in cooked yogurt sauce) had a thick dough shell, was dried till very hard, and almost had 0 filling. It was my first time ever to have shish barak full of onions and bell peppers, with hardly any meat. The yoghurt sauce was separated/curdled اللبن فارط which is a big NO in Levantine cooking. Any beginner cook can make a better yoghurt sauce. I added photos clearly showing these two issues.
The tabouleh was wilted and the bulgur wheat in it was still hard so it was like eating sand, again a beginner in the Lebanese kitchen can make better tabouleh.
No one checked if I liked my food and the service...
