Hotel Budapest — Hotel in Tverskoy District

We stayed at the Budapest Hotel for two nights. We choose because it is right in the city center of Moscou, about 20 minutes from the Red Place and 5 minute from the metro. It’s a 4 stars hotel but more like a 3 if you are usually staying in hotels in France or so. The decoration is typically Russia and kinda old but it’s okay. The rooms were nice and spacious and the bathroom was okay. The breakfast was great with a lot of choice. |But the people working weren’t very professional. Especially the guy at the bar who was in charge of the room service. He didn’t speak English at all and didn’t seem to make any effort what so ever. We stayed four nights in August 17. This location is unbeatable at this price. Our room was big and perfectly clean. The beds must be new or something. They were very comfy. That they don't use any feather pillows or comforters was a very welcome feature for me, since I'm very allergic to feathers. That said, this is not the place to stay if you like your room to be equipped with design furniture or state-of-the-art music player or TV. Yes, it's also funny that the staff don't speak much English but hey, perhaps they're fluent in many other languages? Haha It never was a problem. The only positive for this hotel is it's location. It is very dated and rooms are in terrible conditions. We had to change room but was just as bad or even worse. The manager made no effort to see us which we requested for both verbally and email. This was the last leg of a five country tour and we chose to spend 5 nights , not realising it was going to be a hellhole with no proper management that cared about it's customers. Even in South Africa our 3* hotels are a hundred times better that this hotel that rates itself as 4**. |My pictures are proof of the level hygiene.
