As an elite member, Marriot has been our trusted brand and first choice of hotels for a long time when having business trip. However, we were so sad about the stays in Moscow Marriot Royal Aurora (Reservation Code 97861722). Honestly, this is the worst experience with Marriot Group. The reason was that at the very first day of our check-in, we mentioned to reserve one more night to July 27 because of schedule changes. (we also informed Renaissance Hotels in St.petesburg which we reserved at July 27) After checking the price for staying one more night with the front desk girl, we confirmed to stay till July 27. Yet, it may be due to her language or communication limitation, she didn't reserve the room for us. And we were never informed abou the re-comfirmation. The hotel said they did but nobody anwered the door. But as I mentioned we were doing a bussiness trip, nobody will wait for you in their room. So they just didn't try to reach us. In comparsion with that, my colleage (Marriot No.866825438) who checked in at the same time but at different fronk desk reserved successfully. I was pretty sure I confirmed the reservation orally and she should know we were together. It was unbelievable to know that our luggages were out of the room when coming back to hotel at July 27 night. Noboday has ever contacted us by either email or phone and our things were just packed without any notice. This is not acceptable as a loyal Marriot member who trust its service and professionlism. From the organised pick up at the airport, the smooth check in, the attention provided to both my wife and I when we arrived, through to the exceptional guest services at the front desk and the most extraordinary concierge we have ever experienced. Anything we asked for was delivered with great and sincere enthusiasm, from directions, VIP access tickets to museums, limousines, restaurant reservations and city transfers.
We had a one-bedroom suite and it looked over the beautiful roof tops of Moscow, the room was very spacious (huge) immaculately serviced and there was nothing you needed to ask for. This gave us access to the Hotel Business Lounge which was again well facilitated and serviced.
The breakfast was well catered with a beautiful selection of Western / European foods and beverages; you would need to stay a few days to even make a dent in tasting everything.
Among all of this, the hotel is simply the best location in Moscow, one block from the Bolshoi theatre, across the road from one of Moscow’s most stylish departments stores, luxury brand stores and arcades. There is an abundance of excellent restaurants in any direction you walk, within minutes from the hotel. Plus, the amazing St Basil’s, Red square, Kremlin museum and Armory are all within in a leisurely 15 minutes’ walk from the hotel.
Therefore, if you are looking at staying in Moscow, first make sure you are booking the Marriott Aurora and second ensure your stay is at least 4 to 5 days to really experience this wonderful...
