Stayed in October 2017||||Good||||Located within 20 mins walking distance from the Kremlin, and 10 minutes walking distance from the nearest metro, the hostel has two grocery stores located very close to each other. For buying grocery and ready to eat food, including grilled meat and sandwiches, I would recommend the one which is located right across the street from the entrance to the hostel. This one is bigger, has more options and the staff generally understand and/or speak English.||||Bad: ||||Now coming to the negatives, the hostel can certainly have a few more toilets. The toilets are just too few for a hostel of this size. The staff can be more informed about the city and places nearby, especially the nearby towns of what constitutes the Golden Ring. However, here I would like to add that the staff with their limited knowledge were courteous and always willing to help with mixed results. I believe with a bit of training these boys and girls can certainly do wonders. Also, the breakfast can be slightly improved with more varieties to be offered, because even by Moscow standards the hostel is not cheap. I won’t recommend this, as you have plenty of options in Moscow which are more centrally located and come at similar...
Read moreNot the ideal hostel - office decor and no vibe. But it does have a good location. Smelly bathrooms, no curtains on the top bunks, really loud doors and locks so everything everyone does is loud, and a 300r surcharge if you bring your own alcohol. This means nobody drinks which is a mixed bag, I suppose. Too warm, no a/c and ineffective fans. Half the staff is really nice and the other half is really rude. There was construction going on while I was there that made being there from 9am-7pm unbearable. They do pick up the phone and speak English- a big pro: not everyone does. People definitely poached from my food basket in the fridge, but whatever maybe they needed that food more than me. I met someone who had their bag stolen from here a few days before I arrived. 10/10 would pay more to stay at a hotel next time seeing as how the main reason I had wanted to stay at a hostel was to meet fellow travelers and the scene here isn’t really conducive to...
Read moreI liked this hostel, it's clean and the staff was kind. When I stayed there for a week, there were work "volunteers" keeping the place clean and guiding us through the city with day and night activities. Bedrooms are ok, but it can be warm in summer nights.||Good location with bars, restaurants, supermarkets, currency exchange house and subway stations in few minutes away on foot. Even the city center is not that far, in a 20-minute walk, you can reach the Kremlin. It's true that the alley that links the street to the hostel is dark, but it is not that bad, just use your cellphone to light the way, there is even a security guard in one end of the alley.||Breakfast is simple but if you want more, you can take your own food...
