Hotel Argo — Hotel in City of Belgrade

Excellent hotel! Great location, tasty breakfast with good choice, clean and nice rooms (cleaned literally every day), great view from the balcony. All for a reasonable price. It's a dog-friendly hotel, and my mum's dog was truely welcome there (the staff offers dog pillows, bowls for food in case you don't bring your own, the cleaning stuff doesn't enter the room if the dog is inside, etc.). But the best thing is the lovely staff of the hotel! We particularly thank Ivan❤❤ for the warmest reception we ever had, also Darko, Lazar and everybody else. We arrived earlier than the check-in time, and the staff did their best to provide the room earlier. Similarly, on the last day we were allowed to store our luggage after the check out time. The hotel doesn't have an elevator, but there is always someone to help you to carry your luggage upstairs or downstairs. My husband had to work from the hotel for a couple of days during our stay, the internet connection turned out to be a bit slow for that, so we asked the staff if it could be improved. Even though we were not expecting a super fast internet in a hotel anyway and were not complaining, the staff took the problem very seriously and did their best to resolve it quickly, that was really great and professional. Restaurant staff would always greet you in your language and make sure everything is good. All the staff speaks good English, some Russian, and there was a guy (sorry I didn't remember his name), who spoke decent Spanish, I really enjoyed the conversation. Everybody was really interested in the quality of our experience not only inside the hotel, but also outside it - we were given tons of detailed recommendations about places to visit, restaurants, bus tickets, trip to Novi Sad, etc., etc. And even if you don't need any special recommendations, you can always have a nice small talk with people who work here and get to know more about the local life. This place gets five stars all day long from me. I have travelled extensively on the European continent, and I must say that Western Europe needs to take notes on the way the staff conduct themselves here. Everyone has been outstanding. Philip is surely a world leader in client relations. His English is impeccable, and nothing is too much trouble for that great young man; he will go far in life, and deserves an immediate pay rise! It's a shame I didn't get any other names, but they were all so helpful and all went that extra mile. They all have that 'nothing is too much trouble' approach, and not in a false way.

As for the hotel - so clean, comfortable, and such a safe environment. The rooms have nice heating, beds are very comfortable. It's really a luxury place for such a relatively small price-tag. It's smack bang in the centre, fifteen minutes' walk from Republic Square. Reception is 24/7.

Trust me, you can walk around this area at night during all hours, you'll have no drama whatsoever. This is how Belgrade is anyway - but this area is the best. Big thanks to all members of staff for my best hotel experience ever.

Me and my wife stayed at Argo total of four times and we do like this place however, there are few things that might be adjusted:

I would suggest that instead of white color for the walls you use color that is orange, yellow or some other vibrant color, instead of white since the main color is green - it would match perfectly :) Sinks could be bigger, water can splash all over unless you're really, really careful. Heating was slightly strange as it was loud and that can be distracting when you're trying to rest. Also, by the time temperature reaches warm level you have to endure cold air blowing across the room and we could feel it and it didn't feel good. It would be nice if you could adjust that with a more-sophisticated AC system.

We can see that you fixed shower issue by putting doors (which is wonderful) and they no longer leak out on the floor. We're very happy with personnel and service that Argo provides. We believe it's a very nice deal and location is awesome.
