We were a group of friends travelling and booked Hacienda as it was available and looked fair. Booking was simple enough. ||Compared to all of the other various places we stayed around Europe, the beds in Hacienda were by far the worst - you could feel every spring in your back. The rooms were fair but I would say cramped in comparison to rooms I've booked for cheaper. The free tea and coffee existed for the first night of our stay, then the coffee disappeared and never came back (the owner just didn't bother buying any more). ||We rented bikes at a 'cut price' rate, which turned out to be less than 1€ cheaper than the official tourist centre. Out of the bikes we hired, one had no gears (Bled is extremely hilly to bike so this was poor), one bike's seat had broken and one had a tire that was punctured and couldn't be fixed. When asked for a partial refund, seeing as we had to hire extra bikes from the tourist centre, we were point blank refused. Do not rent their bikes!||WiFi exists but it was literally impossible to connect to. They seem to be trying to boost a signal from somewhere, but it just doesn't work. I had to syphon some from an open connection from a neighbour, which required me to sit outside waving my phone in the air!||Washing your clothes is restricted to a small-ish laundry bag which will set you back a whopping 15€. Not ideal when you just need to wash a couple of bits and pieces.||However, the views on the walk to Hacienda were good and the walk itself wasn't that far from town. The kitchen was fully equipped and the view from the hostel itself was great.||If I were to book again, I would look somewhere else, all things considered. Even though there are some good points, the negatives far outweigh the positives in...
Read moreBooked this hostel as it was the cheapest going, but did not expect its staff and facilities to be so bad. |We arrived and were put in one room and so unpacked etc. When we returned the next day there was a notice on reception saying staff had moved all of our belongings to a different room without our consent or knowledge. We got to the new room and our belongings were all over the floor and it took us a while to make sure all of our stuff was still there. |We had also bought food to cook in the kitchen. We were not made aware until we went next door to Bled Tours (who work in conjunction with the hostel staff we think as there is never actually anyone at the hostel desk) and asked if the hob worked. We were told there was an electrical fault and it would be fixed in two days. On our last day we heard staff telling other guests it will be fixed tomorrow. |Staff at the hostel are rude too, the woman who we presume is the manager was hostile and made us feel as though we were always doing something wrong. We were cooking onion in the microwave and she stopped the microwave to see what we were cooking and left it, without turning it back on. She then proceeded to spray air freshener and complain about the smell. |Best part of Hacienda...
Read moreI was a small bit concerned to go here after reading reviews but don't be fooled this place deserves more credit than it gets. We went in August 2015 on a budget as we were inter-railing so it was more than we needed. They offer free transfers to/from the train station when you stay 3 nights or more which was great because we arrived at the bled train station at 1am to find a ghost town not 1 taxi or soul about. The hostel is situated a 5 or 10 minute walk to town but the walk is really enjoyable with beautiful views. I was one of the unlucky ones who could feel the metal springs in the mattress but I found a position to sleep in that was suitable and I got over it. They offer a full kitchen and a lovely communal area with another outdoor one which was great as we got to meet other people there and we sat outside playing card games before heading in for the bar crawl. Really enjoyed my time here and will definitely be back. (last note, there was wifi but it didn't work; couldn't...
