Because of the ‘good reviews’ we made a reservation. We were excited because the place, the menu and the view looked very good. If the food is good, we never mind paying a bit more for that.
When we arrived, we ordered two courses. We ordered the same fish first course and a different meat second course. The first course came very quick, but the taste was ok. We both enjoyed that one. One of the waiters walked by a few times to check if we were finished, it was not that subtle. When I took the last bite from the first course, our plates were removed immediately and the second course was on the table within 2 minutes. The couple on the table next to us, had the same thing.
When we got the second course - which was completely mediocre and had a weird choice of ingredients - we wanted to order an accompanying wine. The waiters did not pay any attention to us anymore. We had to ask three times. Because of all of this, we did not want to order another course anymore.
The reason for all this rush is probably because you can make a reservation for 7 pm or 9 pm. If you arrive at 7 pm, you have to leave before 9 pm. That should not be any problem, but our evening felt very rushed. Because of this rush, we were already done within an hour (before 8 pm). That is a real shame because we wanted to enjoy our evening.
On top of this you have to pay too much money (we paid over a € 100) for mediocre food and a rushed evening. Real shame. We do not understand the good reviews at all and it does not make any sense that they even excist.
We would not recommend this place. Do not believe the...
Read moreMy wife and I recently dined at Savo restaurant and unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. While the ambiance and the initial service seemed promising, a particular incident during our meal left us feeling deceived and dissatisfied.
Upon being seated, we were presented with a basket of bread without any prior explanation or offer. Assuming it was a complimentary snack, we nibbled on it as we perused the menu. To our dismay, when the bill arrived, we discovered that we had been charged for two portions of bread, which were not only unexpected but also didn't taste very good.
This lack of transparency and the subsequent overcharge left a bitter taste in our mouths, figuratively speaking. As patrons, we value honesty and clear communication when it comes to the pricing of items on the menu. Charging customers for items they assume are complimentary is not only unethical but also tarnishes the reputation of an establishment.
The feeling of being scammed overshadowed any positive aspects of our dining experience. I strongly advise potential diners to exercise caution when considering this restaurant as their dining destination. Such deceptive practices are unacceptable in the restaurant industry, and one should expect better from establishments that aim to provide a memorable dining experience.
In conclusion, my visit to this restaurant was marred by an unfortunate incident that I cannot overlook. I hope that this review serves as a cautionary tale for others, prompting the restaurant to reevaluate its practices and prioritize transparency...
Read moreConsidering the high rating, the expensive price point and the way the food was presented I had thought it would be a fine dining experience but I find the quality poor, the execution confusing and the portions mismatched, e.g with the 2 main course 1 of us was too full and the other was too hungry.
I gave extra stars for 1. Very good service 2. Very good view 3. Pretty plate presentation / nice dip for bread. But I would not eat here again.
I came here on a Tuesday and wondered if I had a different chef?
The veal pate was confusing to eat, it was trying too hard to be exquisite but missed the point.
The sea bass pate with tuna tartare could gear towards western style or japanese but it was overall too mixed of a taste to be put together.
The Sova Grill Platter was alot and had alot going on but only the chicken and beef was nice. The pork was tough to bite and the sausage was nothing worthy of mentioning.
The most disappointing dish for me was the Octopus dish, I came here seeing all the beautiful photos of the dish from everyone's photo but what came was almost sad. While the sauce was excellent, you can see that my Octopus looked nothing like everyone else's photo. It tasted not even warm enough and you cant even see the unshaved part of the tentacle that should have been presented. I have also seen other photos with 3 to 5 tentacles and looks nicely grilled and for 29 Euros for 2 badly executed tentacles that was even shaved down, was a sore miss.
The best dish was pretty much the bread dip with dukkah.
Give this place a miss and...
