Enjoyed delicious dinner overlooking scenic Lake Bled. Really good place to eat while at Lake Bled. Everything was great! From homemade garlic butter, freshly baked bread, olive oil mixed with pistachios trough out truffle soup and wonderfully done Angus stake to the melting in your mouth chocolate fondant! The only small issue, if I may, was the fact all food was tad bit saltier than one would want. Large selection of local wines, dessert wines and beer. I loved the fact they had unfiltered beer (in a can only). Sea food, fish, and octopus available although I’d recommend red meat, especially the daily specials as they were fantastically prepared! A lot of items on the menu comes with truffle either on the side or mixed in the sauce/food (not a big fan of truffle myself) however there are options without it. It was a bit overkill when truffle was on top of my vanilla ice cream! Service and staff were super nice and pleasant, attentive, and engaged with customers. The menu itself, even though not long/huge, made me feel dizzy while reading it as multiple languages in different fonts were printed inside. Card payments possible. Visited in April 2022.

Having dined at Sova continuously for the past couple of days, I can confidently say it's a culinary gem that consistently exceeds expectations. The remarkable consistency in food quality, presentation, and flavor makes each visit a delightful journey for the taste buds. The exceptional service, which I've experienced consistently, goes above and beyond to create a welcoming and valued guest experience. The staff's thoughtfulness and friendliness contribute to the warm and inviting atmosphere. The icing on the cake – the breathtaking view of Lake Bled – adds an enchanting touch to every meal, making it truly memorable. And let's not forget their must-try Aperol Spritz, a refreshing and delicious drink that perfectly complements the meal and enhances the overall enjoyment. For locals and visitors alike, Restavracija Sova remains a culinary haven that consistently delivers excellence in food, service, views, and drinks. It's a place where every detail is carefully curated to ensure an unforgettable dining experience, and I've had the pleasure of experiencing this continuously over the past couple of days.

Considering the high rating, the expensive price point and the way the food was presented I had thought it would be a fine dining experience but I find the quality poor, the execution confusing and the portions mismatched, e.g with the 2 main course 1 of us was too full and the other was too hungry. I gave extra stars for 1. Very good service 2. Very good view 3. Pretty plate presentation / nice dip for bread. But I would not eat here again. I came here on a Tuesday and wondered if I had a different chef? The veal pate was confusing to eat, it was trying too hard to be exquisite but missed the point. The sea bass pate with tuna tartare could gear towards western style or japanese but it was overall too mixed of a taste to be put together. The Sova Grill Platter was alot and had alot going on but only the chicken and beef was nice. The pork was tough to bite and the sausage was nothing worthy of mentioning. The most disappointing dish for me was the Octopus dish, I came here seeing all the beautiful photos of the dish from everyone's photo but what came was almost sad. While the sauce was excellent, you can see that my Octopus looked nothing like everyone else's photo. It tasted not even warm enough and you cant even see the unshaved part of the tentacle that should have been presented. I have also seen other photos with 3 to 5 tentacles and looks nicely grilled and for 29 Euros for 2 badly executed tentacles that was even shaved down, was a sore miss. The best dish was pretty much the bread dip with dukkah. Give this place a miss and save your money.

Disappointing food experience in Bled Sova restaurant waiter Dominic told us to complain about our food downstairs in the kitchen and that he doesn’t take care at all and left our table. 🤷♂️ That was truly the moment we felt like in 1* local pub than in premium restaurant. In general, the couvert food was great, starter average, soups good and the main course bad. Octopus was really chewy, cold, over salted and without any other good flavor (putting some truffle on it doesn’t make it restaurant quality food). My friend returned it. My seabass was really over salted (and I love salty food, but this was too much even for me), but I was able to finish it with lot of water. The food presentation is probably more important than taste for them… We were polite and asked the waiter to consult the food quality with the chef. His answer you read in the beginning of this review. 2,5 stars, 1 for view and location, 1 for starters and half for other young waiter who didn’t serve our table, but he seemed that he cares… Better to visit other places for lunch or dinner in Bled.

The food is very good at this establishment; the risotto was cooked to perfection. The chef certainly gets the star rating. However, as many other reviews have pointed out, the waiter service is rather lacking. We asked for tap-water, but were told that the only water on the premises was only good for washing dishes. I don’t think I’ve ever been refused a glass of tap-water in a bar/restaurant (especially in hot weather) – all other restaurants in the area brought tap water with an order of drinks as a matter of course. Avoid the balcony seat on the far right of the upper seating area – there’s a drip from the awning. We also asked to split the bill, which seemed to perplex the waiter more than tap-watergate. He told us it wasn’t possible… but after some discussion, we managed to pay half and half. He was quite chatty, and told us about his life in Bled as well as horror stories during the lockdown of 2020. I think if the waiters were a little more accommodating, this place would get 5 stars every time.

Our food and entire experience at this restaurant was 100% amazing. It’s basically fine dining in a semi casual setting. The restaurant is cute and cozy, with outdoor space in the nice weather. The wait staff and the restaurant owner were all very nice. We were not expecting high end/fine dining from this place, but the quality and presentation was up to par with fancier restaurants. My boyfriend is a chef himself and he was amazed by the quality of food. We had the tuna tartar as an appetizer and we each picked a risotto from the menu. This was the tail end of our vacation in Italy, and we were surprised that the best risotto we had was in Slovenia, right here at this restaurant! We also enjoyed a chocolate cake, but each night hey also offer a special dessert—you just have to ask. We each had a glass of wine, shared an app, each had a main meal, and split dessert, and it was under €80. Best. Meal. Of. Our. Trip.
