Bishops Lodge, located in the charming coastal town of Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape, offers a warm and inviting retreat that perfectly balances comfort, convenience, and sustainability. During my recent stay, I was thoroughly impressed by the exceptional hospitality, top-notch amenities, and the lodge's commitment to eco-friendly practices. Here’s a detailed review of my experience at Bishops Lodge, covering various aspects that make it an ideal destination for families, solo travelers, and business guests alike.|Check-In and First Impressions|From the moment we arrived at Bishops Lodge, we were greeted with a friendly smile and a warm welcome. The check-in process was seamless and efficient, with the staff going out of their way to ensure we felt right at home. Their professionalism and attention to detail were evident, and it set the tone for the rest of our stay. Our room was ready upon arrival, and we were personally escorted to our accommodation, which provided a beautiful first glimpse of the lodge’s stunning sea views.|Accommodation and Views|Our room at Bishops Lodge exceeded all expectations. Spacious, clean, and tastefully decorated, it offered all the comforts one could desire. The highlight, undoubtedly, was the breathtaking sea view from our window. Waking up to the sight of the sun rising over the ocean was a magical experience that added an extra layer of tranquility to our stay. The room was equipped with modern amenities, including a comfortable bed, flat-screen TV, and a well-appointed bathroom with refillable shampoo bottles, reinforcing the lodge’s commitment to eco-friendly initiatives.|Family-Friendly Amenities|Bishops Lodge is the perfect destination for a family trip. The pool area was a hit with the kids. The clean and well-maintained pool area provided a safe and enjoyable environment for children and adults alike. With a variety of games and activities, it was a great place for families to bond and have fun together.|Eco-Friendly Initiatives|One of the standout features of Bishops Lodge is its dedication to sustainability. The lodge has implemented several eco-friendly initiatives, such as using refillable shampoo bottles and reducing plastic waste. These efforts are commendable and show the lodge’s commitment to protecting the environment. It was refreshing to stay at a place that values sustainability and takes tangible steps to minimize its ecological footprint.|Fitness and Wellness|For those who like to stay active even while on vacation, Bishops Lodge has you covered. The lodge offers access to a well-equipped gym, perfect for late-night workouts. The gym was clean, modern, and had all the necessary equipment to maintain a fitness routine. A 4-star with no showercaps. A bad smell in the bathroom. Dirty taps. Hot water unavailable for 2 days. The food - just ate to fill stomach. Time for dinner not adhered to. You'll come and wait for some time because food was not ready. Lastsly, I had my car's mirror bent outwardly. Reporting it at reception I was told that I'm gonna be shown on cctv because where I had parked at least the cameras were available to show and a Manager would call me. I waited for 2 days. That never happened even after I went to remind them. Instead of being shown on the 3rd day I was told that the camera doesn't show where I had parked my car. What the Manager did while I was out was to bend the mirror back to its position which later went back to the broken position. They don't have their clients...

The bishops Inn was very welcoming and friendly. The price was very reasonable, which includes house keeping every day change of towels, which was kept to a very high standard. The staff were very helpful and friendly, also they had dry cleaning, washing and ironing on site, which if you wanted was at an extra cost but very cheap. In your room you had your ownsafe to keep your valuables . We stayed in flat 1a which is DISABLED FRIENDLY and the shower was so big that if you were DISABLED you had no problems going in. Also security was top notch. Had such a beautiful time there we re booked as we went to cape town for 17 days and stayed there for our last 7 days in port Elizabeth south Africa. It was a pleasure to stay. Plus it's a family...

I was there for almost 3 months. Everything was great except room service: room was clean, towels and bedding was every day fresh, but if you left something delicious in fridge- room service ladies will eat or at least try that ;-) And you need to careful when you asking for ironing- up to now I have souvenir from iron stamp ;-)
