Primi Piatti Eastgate: A Culinary Gem!
I can't praise Primi Piatti Eastgate enough! This restaurant consistently delivers an exceptional dining experience, earning a well-deserved 5/5 stars from me.
My partner and I have dined here multiple times, and each visit has been just as delightful as the last.
From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with a warm and inviting ambiance.
The restaurant has a vibrant yet relaxed atmosphere, perfect for a casual dinner or a special occasion.
The décor is tasteful and creates a comfortable setting to enjoy a meal. But the real star of the show is the food. Primi Piatti offers a diverse menu with something to please everyone.
As a vegetarian, I'm always on the lookout for delicious and creative options, and Primi Piatti never disappoints.
Their vegetarian Recco pasta is an absolute standout! It's packed with flavour, perfectly cooked, and a truly satisfying dish.
I highly, highly recommend it to any vegetarians visiting – you won't be disappointed!
Beyond the fantastic food and ambiance, the service at Primi Piatti Eastgate is truly exceptional.
The staff are friendly, attentive, and always go the extra mile to ensure a pleasant dining experience.
A special shout-out to our wonderful waiter, Keke, who made our recent visit particularly memorable.
Her warm personality, attentiveness, and genuine care for our dining experience were truly outstanding.
She was knowledgeable about the menu, offered helpful recommendations, and always checked in to make sure we had everything we needed.
Keke's exceptional service is a perfect example of the high standards upheld at Primi Piatti, and I highly recommend her to anyone dining there.
It's clear that they take pride in their work, and this consistently excellent customer service is a major reason why we keep returning.
Finally, Primi Piatti offers fantastic value for money.
The prices are reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food and the overall dining experience.
It's a place where you can enjoy a delicious meal without breaking the bank. In conclusion, Primi Piatti Eastgate is a must-visit restaurant.
Whether you're a vegetarian or a meat-lover, you're sure to find something you'll love.
With its exceptional food, great ambiance, fantastic value, and consistently outstanding customer service (especially from Keke!), Primi Piatti has earned a permanent spot on our list of favourite restaurants.
I can't wait to go back!

Read moreThis is not a critique on the quality of the food which remains good. But I have not been to Primi in a while and there were some notable changes to the menu which mean that it has priced itself out of the family restaurant market. Firstly, there is no kids menu, which used to be available. There is no reason for this, since this is a typical Italian restaurant which couldn't be more suited to families. So your kids drink will cost R45 and the cheapest pizza on the menu is R90 (Margarita). My biggest critique however comes on the pasta menu pricing. The prices indicated are not the prices. These are for the "junior" or starter portions , although not stated as such. If you order a full portion of pasta you should expect to spend almost 40% more than the listed price. So a basic pasta (as nice as it was) was R190. I'm sorry, but pasta night is traditionally a cheap family restaurant escape from home cooking. R190 meals I prefer to reserve for date nights with a special beef fillet or some other treat. Pasta is not that treat, and I simply cannot justify the pricing that Primi has decided to classify itself at. It's been a while since I was there, and I can safely say it will be a lot longer...
Read moreVery disappointing. Everything a restaurant could do wrong, these guys did wrong. They have more than one entrance to the dining area & I walked in one that had no-one on the door. I was seated for 10 minutes before a staff member brought me a menu. The service even after that was insanely slow. Took them 45 minutes to bring my meal, even though the place was 80% empty. This seems to be an ongoing problem in South Africa - very slow service, even when restuarants are not busy. My burger was awful. Smashed, overcooked mince instead of the expected juicy patty. The so-called "healthy" Zucchini fries were battered and deep fried, not what I expected. Finally on the bill, I was charged 250% more for the Onion Rings than the price on the menu. Absolute rip-off. I doubt most of their customers even notice, but I do - restaurants have a habit of charging more than advertised on their menus. I'm sure it's done on purpose. Rated this place 2 stars instead on one for the cold beer & the fact that the Waitron was friendly but I doubt I'll...
