The moment you step into Harpers you are transported to a charming, old-world atmosphere. The cosiest little corner of Eastgate, with it's warm lighting, beautiful decor, and great Wifi for a wonderful & cozy spot to work or relax. What hooked me at first was the music they play - no matter the time of the day, they are playing classic music such as Louis Armstrong & Julio Inglesias.
What kept me coming back was the food. They have a vast menu, with such amazing food! My choice is usually the most delicious Calypso Avo Toast, or the Smoked Salmon Potato Rosti for breakfast, and the Chicken salad for lunch. The portions are super large and the presentation is always lovely.
Having spent many mornings in this cozy café working, I have come to know the staff quite well- who always welcome me with a warm smile and remember to ask about my family by name.

Read moreI recently had the pleasure of having breakfast at Harper's Restaurant which was a delightful experience, with efficient, friendly yet unintrusive service. The menu's wide variety caters to diverse tastes, and the breakfast options are both delicious and perfectly portioned. I had the Calypso and my egg was poached exactly as I had requested. My fellow dinners had the Giusto and one of the speciality omelettes. All complimented the deliciousness of their meals.
The coffee is of high quality, complementing the meal perfectly. The only drawback is the somewhat hidden location behind escalators, but once found, Harper's becomes a charming spot for social gatherings. Overall, it's a fabulous dining experience that combines excellent service, delicious breakfast, and a versatile menu and relaxing ambience. Highly...
Read moreVery nice-looking establishment. warm, inviting and very friendly staff. I ordered the scrambled eggs and salmon. Especially asked that the scrambled eggs are glossy and not over cooked and crumbling. I was assured they weren't over cooked. 1st plate arrived drowning in the water from over cooked crumbling eggs and cooked Salmon. The waitress stepped in immediately and said thats not what she asked the kitchen and would replace it. 5* to her. Unfortunately the 2nd plate was either the first plate drained and replated or a repeat of the first. Seriously, how can you get it wrong. Glossy scrambled, with salmon on the side or add just before plating. Its criminal to eat smoked salmon so over cooked. Hopefully it is just my meal and everyone else has...
