We had the absolute pleasure of dining at this gem hidden in the heart of Bedford. As soon as we walked into the restaurant we felt transported into a pocket universe, where the atmosphere, food and service are out of this world. Our wonderful server Sam was warm, welcoming and never failed to answer all the cuisine questions my husband had.
We sat under their fairy tree, which was so special because I love a good natural fairy light ambience. But what really set the scene for us was the live violin player.
It’s so refreshing to find a restaurant with good mocktails, however these mocktails weren’t just good, they were a taste sensation beyond this galaxy.
Reading the menu was a delight, I could tell it was designed by a true wordsmith, each dish was described in titillating destail to encourage curiosity and encourage the guest to venture out of their norm, and try something excitingly new.
While my husband describes the carpaccio antipasti as refreshing and well balanced, I had discovered a new love for artichoke hearts with their Italian Carciofi
For our mains I had discovered a new taste sensation with their Poached pear and Gorgonzola mousse. This dish had no right to be this good, honestly it was more of a dessert with salad on the side, it is now my new favorite dish!
My husband had the most succulent ribeye paired with their jus that was tantalisingly sweet but so well balanced!
We had to pull out a pro and con list to decide on our dessert, each sweet sensation was heavily discussed and weighed but in the end my husband chose their Marscapone sensation while I decided to humour the fantasy queen in me, and ordered the Dragon’s egg. I was not disappointed, the vanilla semifredo felt like silk and accompanied the salted caramel mousse perfectly, the white chocolate egg shell was just what I needed, but the hidden hero was the salted caramel nest which held the majestic egg and added an exciting texture to this silky smooth dessert.
While my husband had his night cap the restaurant wished us a happy marriage to celebrate our honeymoon with a delicious mint bonbon and chocolate shell ice cream delight.
Thank you for a truly magical evening, it was the perfect romantic spot to end...
Read moreWe chose the 11th Floor to celebrate our 11th anniversary, on Easter Sunday, hoping for a memorable experience. Unfortunately, it fell short of expectations.
We began lunch by ordering the six-drink package, only to be informed that all six drinks would have to be served at once. After expressing our concerns, it was eventually agreed that we could receive two drinks at a time — a compromise that should have been more intuitively handled for a fine dining establishment.
To start, we ordered the Patagonia squid, which surprisingly arrived within five minutes. Upon tasting it, it became clear that the dish had been pre-prepared. The squid lacked the expected tenderness and crispiness, which was disappointing, especially since the waiter had assured us that fried squid was a house specialty.
For the mains, my wife ordered the carbonara, while I chose the baby chicken. When the mains arrived, the pasta type used was incorrect. The waiter appeared unsure whether to take the dish back or hope we would accept it. Eventually, the pasta was remade. Meanwhile, my baby chicken arrived undercooked — truly shocking, given the standards one would expect for a high caliber restaurant. The manager apologized, and the dish was remade, but the damage to the overall experience had already been done.
The food overall was, at best, average. The pasta was passable but unremarkable, and even after being corrected, the chicken remained below expectations. As a side note my wife felt unwell about 30min after leaving the restaurant, she suspects it to be the pasta/ pasta sauce.
On a more positive note, the drinks were well-prepared and beautifully presented.
Regrettably, based on our experience, I would not recommend the 11th Floor for a special occasion.
After 11th floor management reached out and invited us back. I must also add there MD is excellent to deal with, on point with her customer service skills and very professional. I am happy to report back after giving this a second try the experience was amazing. The service was top notch , food was well presented and prepared. I highly recommend the fillet pasta or lamb chops, the veg dish was very delicate yet contained great flavour. The dessert was...
Read moreMe and my wife went for to celebrate our 11 year wedding Anniversary at The 11th Floor Restaurant. The place has breathtaking views and the set up inside is absolutely stunning. It looks incredible especially at night with the lights that seem like stars at night around nature.. The atmosphere was pleasant, Whether eating inside or outside, you will be surrounded by beauty and charm lighting sets. It's the ideal place to relax and dine in luxury. Fine meal, indeed..! The Live Musician pianist played some ease to ears music.
Our server Mr Allen was just fantastic and other staff, were extremely friendly, Mr Allen patiently assisted us even with queries regarding our dietary requirements. He kept walking to the chef to confirm of the items selected were lacto-vegetarian friendly... He understood the cuisine, made excellent suggestions, and valued guest comments. We'll inquire the next time we come. The assistant manager Mrs Rebecca even offered to take pictures of us when she noticed us trying to take photos of each other. She showed us around the place and suggested spots that indeed look great for photos.
The food from the starters were very good but the highlight of our evening was the divine desert Ruby Dreamscape Panna Cotta (without Egg & Gelatin). It was not only pleasant to eyes but extremely tasty. The Delicious Vegetarian dishes are we ordered:- Italian Carciofi (without Beer-Battered), Margherita Pizza, Garlic-Chilli Roasted Corn, Velvet Garlic Mash & Ruby Dreamscape Panna Cotta (without Egg & Gelatin).
Top of it all at the end they gave a printed photo taken with their camera at entrance (which they said was a free gesture by the restaurant to all visitors) and even gave a free copy of a book (free to customers). This is a total local luxury getaway as a stress buster for few hours, well worth the time and money.
Overall We greatly enjoyed dinner at The 11th Floor Restaurant. Everything was handled really nicely from the minute we arrived until we departed. I thank the crew for putting together such a positive experience. I am already looking forward to...
