News Cafe Eastgate — Restaurant in Gauteng

Rubbish service that i got at eastgate news cafe on Saturday i couldn’t believe and still can’t. That waiter was so rude i think the moment he realised we were not there to splash money like every one he was serving was he started acting weird. His name was Lindo if i remember correctly because he didn’t even introduce himself i had to ask his name because he kept disappearing on us half of the time i had to keep asking some other waiters to go look for him. The table he took was too was so dirty with beer stains and so were the menus we had to wipe them off. We had to wait for our food for almost an hour and he also was no where to be seen during that time to at least come reassure us that the food was delayed or something. Towards the end of the night we ask the bill and asked for goodie bags to pack out food. This guy just bought the bill and as soon as he realised we were not going to tip him for his terrible service he never came back with the goodie bags he just left now we had to keep looking for him and just asked one of the other waiters to pack for us. Not that wasn’t enough we has to walk all the way downstairs with our drinks in the hand to ask for drink cups to take home with.

Like i am so shocked at the level of service i received it’s pathetic and i hope as management team do...

The food and the ambiance were good but the service was bad. Our initial waitress handed us over to another guy, her shift had ended and this guy was something else. When serving us, he'd be having an attitude and mixing our orders up.

The craziest part was when he noticed that we aren't tipping him he got angry and said our card is declining when he hadn't asked for the PIN to be typed (of course it wouldn't go through). Then he threw the slip from the swiping machine to my sister. Imagine! We told him that how come it didn't need a PIN, he swiped again and it went through, he still threw the slip to my sister instead of giving it properly or just putting it on the table.

That guy was mean and unprofessional at all. I was so shocked! The other waitress was the one deserving of the tip not him and thank God we didn't tip a...
