Knysna N2 Lodge — Hotel in George

This is definitely not a lodge, it is a Backpackers. This is the experience we had: 1.Room very old, it had two bunckbeds, double bed, dresser and a fridge, way to crowded. 2.The mattres on the double bed was horrible you will need back surgery if you sleep a week on it. 3.It is self catering with a communial kitchen and lounge with lots of place to braai, but you are not allowed to have a glass of wine with your meal, no alcohol is allowed on the premises, not even in your room. 4.It is located next to the N2, the trucks drive pass your room through the night, so don't t even think about a good night's sleep. 5.The reseptionists assisted us with checking out dressed in her night robe and a shower cap telling us she is not on duty and that was just before 7 the morning. Will not recommend this...

Absolutely putrid accommodation , paid for the room and an hour in , extreme loud banging on the door. Before I could open the door, the host opened up while I was still dressing. Demanded more money despite the room already being paid for. The room itself is in dismal condition , the beds are extremely old and tattered up, springs are falling apart. Extremely noisy, the roof above is wooden and there is a backpackers above your room, it is EXTREMELY loud , you will hear everything that is done above your head , room tremors constantly and you feel as though the roof will give in. Room does not appear to ever have been cleaned out and bath etc is filthy . I checked out a little after an hour after arrival and was refused any recourse, no refund or even a partial refund. AVOID this place...

I travel quite a lot. Knysna N2 lodge was literally my worst experience ever. Very unhelpful staff. Sometimes very rude. What annoyed anyone the most is the fact that the employees hang out more than the Guests, so it's quite hard to tell if they're on duty or not. Worst case scenario. The one employee (lady) takes another man into "her room" with her every night....that says quite a lot. My friend's bag/clothes were stolen. It was hard to tell after that if it wasn't the same man who hangs out there every night or not. We complained to the owner and she made several promises while we were there. After we left there, we heard nothing from her again until today. IN SHORT. I WOULD NOT ADVISE MY ENEMY TO EVER USE...
