Mountview Spa & Guest House — Hotel in Sea Point

Lovely. Just what the wife and I needed. A getaway without the far tiresome traveling. Easy to find and once inside its as if the hustle and bustle of city life just falls and fades behind the gates and you enter into this sophisticated, beautiful, contemporary and serene setting. Lovely private pool and Jacuzzi to relax and release the daily stress in (thanks to the short break in loadshedding, we were able to enjoy the full experience as the jacuzzi was available to use. The owner, Joe, is very cool and very tentative to his clients. As per our request, halaal breakfast was provided and super delicious. Our stay was way too short but very sweet, a definite return is on the cards as well as recommendations.

The website says they do massages. They don’t. When I mentioned that it shouldn’t be advertised that way on their website the answer of the owner was “you shouldn’t look on my website when you booked on Agoda”…. Uh what? Also only got breakfast after asking for it. Agoda says it is included but the owner disagrees with this so he wasn’t gonna give it to us until I said that was bs. The rooms don’t really have a window. The cleaning and breakfast lady is wonderful....

Sadly I found the service lacking. Not very friendly staff. The bed was tiny and both my wife and I slept with our feet hanging off the end. There was no drinking water available anywhere. In the morning i asked for a cup of coffee and i was told to use the instant coffee in my room. There was a proper coffee machine in the kitchen so i asked if i could not have a "proper" coffee and was told no as i had no selected the breakfast...
