My stay at the hotel has been quite comfortable overall. The staff have been consistently warm and helpful, especially those working during breakfast and in housekeeping. Their attentiveness really stood out and made a positive impression. The room itself is cozy and well-maintained. I was given a slightly larger room than my friend, which was a nice surprise. Although there were junior suites and full suites available, I was not upgraded despite holding lifetime titanium elite status. That said, I did receive a room with a balcony and a partial sea view, which I appreciated. The rate was also excellent for the quality of the hotel. The beds are exceptionally comfortable and have made for restful nights. However, the water pressure in the shower is quite low and the WiFi has been spotty. I understand that Cape Town is currently facing broader infrastructure issues, so this may be outside the hotel's control. Breakfast has been a highlight. The food is consistently tasty, and I like that they rotate a few items each day to keep things fresh. The hot chocolate is especially good and worth trying. In the lobby, there’s a small independent travel desk that’s helpful for local planning, and a few games available which add a nice, relaxed touch to the atmosphere. One inconvenience was that the gym is currently closed. There is also some construction nearby, which can make things a little noisy at times, though it hasn’t been overly disruptive. A more unexpected issue occurred during the night when a bottle of water left in the mini fridge froze, cracked, and shattered. It woke me up and left water and broken glass all over the floor. I was able to clean up most of it myself, and the next day, the housekeeper carefully swept the area after I let her know. She handled it with care and professionalism, which I really appreciated.

I really like this hotel. It's centrally located within walking distance from everything. All of the staff was extremely friendly and tentative. The breakfast was fantastic and consisted of a wide range variety to chose from. They even had chicken sausage a few mornings which i was really appreciative for since I don't eat read meat or pork. The hotel offered a commentary Happy hour which added to the fun! SIBOL📣! SIBOL📣!! SIBOL📣!!! The world's greatest bartender. My favorite part of the hotel was the bar! Sibol curated so many yummy drinks on the fly that my family and me couldn't stay away from. The best part is, every night it was something different. You can clearly see that Sibol have a passion for mixology. Not only was Sibol tentative and had a great attitude but he consistently exhibited top tier professionalism at all times while always going the extra mile to ensure we had a great experience and It was the best way to recap our days. I'm defiently returning just for the breakfast and drinks. Thank you from my Family.

My recent stay at the Protea Sea Point Hotel presented a mixed bag of experiences that I feel compelled to share, aiming to provide a balanced perspective for future guests. Nestled in a prime location, the hotel certainly offers the convenience of proximity to local attractions. However, this advantage is somewhat overshadowed by the overall value proposition.

The accommodations at Protea Sea Point can best be described as basic. While cleanliness and maintenance are up to standard, there's a noticeable lack of standout features or amenities that one might expect given the price point. This is particularly evident when considering the size of the rooms, which are notably small, making the stay less comfortable than anticipated.

In terms of service, the staff generally exudes a friendly demeanor, contributing positively to the guest experience. However, I found it disconcerting that personal political opinions, such as support for the ANC, were openly shared by some staff members. As a tourist, my primary interest lies in enjoying my holiday without delving into the local political landscape, especially when it might influence my perception of where my money is going.

A critical point of contention for me was the hotel's approach to laundry services. With charges approximating $1,000 ZAR (around $50 USD) for a service that is typically mundane, the absence of self-service laundry facilities becomes even more glaring. This pricing strategy feels disproportionate, not only in the context of the hotel's offerings but also when considering the broader hospitality landscape where better value can be found elsewhere.

On a positive note, the complimentary breakfast served its purpose well, offering a decent variety to start the day. Additionally, the Wi-Fi service was sufficiently reliable, enabling me to share this review among other online activities without hindrance.

In conclusion, while the Protea Sea Point benefits from its excellent location, it struggles to justify its price tag through the services and amenities provided. For guests seeking more than just a basic stay, it may be worthwhile to explore alternatives that offer greater value, particularly those just a short distance outside of the town center. This hotel could appeal to those who prioritize location above all else, but for those looking for a memorable stay, the search might need...

WORST HOTEL EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE – VIOLATED, IGNORED, AND DISGUSTED||If I could give this place negative stars, I would. Protea Hotel Sea Point is a complete disgrace to the hospitality industry, and I am shocked that Marriott allows its name to be associated with this dump. I'm a lifetime titanium member and I am in complete shock this is under Marriott. ||||1. My Privacy Was Violated – TWICE||I was WALKED IN ON TWICE WHILE COMPLETELY NAKED.||||The first time, housekeeping barged into my room without knocking while I was stepping out of the shower.||The second time, an unidentified staff member used a keycard and entered my room while I was changing. This means ANYONE with a keycard could just stroll into your room unannounced. That is beyond unacceptable—it is dangerous.||Imagine standing there, exposed and vulnerable, while some stranger just stares at you. No knock. No warning. No respect for guest privacy.||||2. The GM, Jeremy, Is Completely Incompetent & Doesn’t Care||I reported these violations to Jeremy, the so-called General Manager, and his response was nothing short of pathetic.||||No real apology.||No concern for my safety.||No attempt to make things right.||His dismissive, smug attitude made it clear that he has no control over his staff and no business running a hotel. If he’s this careless about guest security and dignity, what else is being neglected?||||3. The Rooms Are DISGUSTING||The sheets were stained and smelled like they hadn’t been washed properly.||The bathroom had hair and mold, making it clear that cleaning is either nonexistent or done in a rush.||A horrible mildew stench filled the room, making it impossible to sleep comfortably.||4. SECURITY IS A JOKE – YOU ARE NOT SAFE HERE||If hotel staff can walk in on you unannounced, imagine how easily a stranger could get access to your room.||The front desk does not verify who is coming and going.||I felt completely unsafe staying here.||5. Overpriced SCAM – They Nickel & Dime You||This hotel has the audacity to charge premium rates for substandard conditions. They will overcharge you for basic services while treating you like an inconvenience.||||6. ACTION STEPS: DO NOT STAY HERE – REPORT THIS HOTEL|| I will be reporting this hotel to Marriott corporate, the Consumer Protection Office, and every travel review site I can find.|| If you’ve had a similar experience, I urge you to...
