We arrived in Cape Town by cruise ship and despite our best efforts, we reluctantly disembarked around 9am. The hotel was only a 10 minute taxi ride from the port, so we turned up ridiculously early, but hoped we could leave our luggage with them while we explored Table Mountain. The very friendly owner did better than that, allowing us to check in to a room early, at no extra cost.
The room was a decent size, exceptionally clean and had everything you could possibly need. The bed was very comfortable.
We had seen previous reviews about the quality of the food, so it was a no brainer to have our dinner there. I had a fillet steak with Diane sauce (my favourite, but becoming hard to find) and it was the best Steak Diane I have ever had. The sauce was plentiful, served separately and full of mushrooms. I asked if they do deliveries to the UK. My wife had the bolognaise and was equally complimentary.
The breakfast menu was extensive. Never seen so much choice. I had the Full English (naturally) which was generous and delicious.
The owner and the staff were very polite and friendly. We desperately wanted to stay for longer.
This is a superb hotel which I...
Read moreThis small boutique hotel is really in a great spot, just a minute walk from the middle of the Promenade. It is safe, even for women traveling alone. You can walk to various shops and coffees, restaurant. The sea is right at your foot! Uber will take you anywhere from here (they can park and wait easily) or you can park your car safely too. It was very quiet in the room despite of being so close proximity to everything as it is in a small street with one way traffic. Luc and his team are amazing! I was offered, before my arrival an upstairs room for free of charge. The room had a little balcony, which you can use during the season, when I was there it was mostly raining. The only thing that would need some TLC is the bathroom, but nothing major. They also have a good selection of breakfast and you can dine there whole day in their nice restaurant. Luc asked me on my check out day what time was my flight, and offered me to stay in until 2.30pm, which was such a treat in the cold weather! Well done for the hospitality of the crew! Thank you Luc, I will be back😊 Pics at breakfast inside and the sunset...
Read moreWhat can I say about this exceptional boutique hotel? It is a treasured find (in fact, we met guests who travel here to Cape Town twice per year from the US, and they always stay in this hotel). The rooms are terrific (very comfortable bed, great shower, well appointed, very clean, great coffee with fruit and cookies and water every day). The location is perfect for exploring Cape Town - Sea Point is very walkable and we can see the ocean from our balcony. We couldn’t believe how good the restaurant/bistro is because we rarely eat at the hotels we stay at on our travels but here - the food was exceptional. Top notch chef, terrific wait staff and lovely bistro style room (open windows to the street and ocean air) made our stay exceptional. Breakfast was very good every morning and included with our room. Never the same dish twice in the four days we were here: from smoked salmon eggs Benedict on a croissant, to authentic shakshuka,I highly recommend this...
