Disappointing Experience with Poor FlexibilityI stayed at 123 Hostel, and unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. During my trip to several cities in South Korea, I had to adjust my schedule due to a flight change by the airline. All the other hostels I stayed at were understanding and approved free cancellations without any issues—except for this one.I only requested to shorten my stay by one night, but this hostel refused to approve it even after three attempts. Trip.com also tried to explain on my behalf, but they still rejected the request. It’s ironic and truly disheartening. I hope in the future, the management will be more understanding in such situations. There are circumstances beyond our control, and it would be better to have a more flexible policy, such as partial cancellations with a reasonable fee, rather than outright rejections. As for the room itself, it was okay for a solo traveler. However, amenities are not included and must be purchased downstairs. Another issue is that the elevator only operates from the second floor, so you have to climb stairs to reach it. On top of that, the bathroom water often leaked out, leaving the room flooded. This definitely needs improvement.Overall, I wouldn’t recommend staying here unless they make significant changes to their policies...
Read moreThis was way better than the other hostel I stayed near DDM. Single room with private bathroom, basic amenities provided with small towels. Bring your own toothbrush otherwise you can purchase it at the counter. It definitely suits young people as one needs to walk uphill to the hostel everyday, imagine with your luggage bags. Travel light, that's the key. What I love about the location was that I got to hike to Namsan Tower every day and night. Probably faster than the cable car since need to queue. You can travel to anywhere in Seoul by bus and metro from this hostel, truly the strategic base! I liked how this hostel emphasised on silence after 10pm, as the soundproofing was poor, however on my 2nd night there were some people who came back to hostel around 2am talking aloud and etc.. not the hostel fault but those people who failed to abide simple rules and not being considerate especially it was way past midnight.. not to forget the staff at counter, she was very attentive & would try her best...
Read moreThe noise at night were really loud. We stayed for 3 nights in total and after the first night we requested to change room, the staff said since the rooms were fully booked so that we could not change our room on the second night. We accepted and they change the room for us on the third night, however the shower noise of the room next to us was too loud too. Beside that, the location is good but not great. It located on a slope so that we had to climb up with our luggage, very tired. Their is no bathtub in the bathroom, the shower place is very small. At other hotels I got a plug adapter for free but this hotel required us to buy the adapter for 5k won. The only good poin of this hotel is that the staff were really friendly and can speak English and Japanese. Overall I DO NOT recommend this...
