Line was long but moved fairly fast. The waiters and waitresses here are friendly, but sadly it's all very disorganized. They put us on a shared table with another 2 patrons but only gave us one menu. We had to request for an extra menu because the other 2 patrons sharing our table was taking some time to decide their order.
They also seem to have trouble coping with the volume. A waiter also randomly dropped a plate of 2 prawns between us, and never said a word of who's it was, and after establishing that no one ordered prawns, we told the waitress who said we could have it for free (and dropped us another plate so each "table" could have one, that was a sweet touch). But then the wait for the crabs is terrible. They mixed up orders and served crabs to people who were seated and ordered after us while we were still left waiting. The waitresses dropped by at least 3 times to ask if our crabs were here but we were still waiting for it.
Our crabs finally arrived around 45 minutes after being seated and they were awesome. Tasted really good and meat was really fresh. Sadly even though we ordered XL crabs, our crabs were just marginally larger than the L ones that our tablemates ordered (pics for comparison in below). As we were eating, they served us our steamed egg. Then a few minutes later they served us another bowl of steamed egg. The waitress was pretty cool and told us we could have it for free, but then we realized that it was for the other 2 patrons who were sharing our table, coz their steamed egg hadn't arrived yet (they've almost finished their meal by now).
TLDR: XL crabs aren't worth it. Go for L or XXL. Even if they put a "best" label next to XL, the marginal increment in size isn't worth the money. Also, don't bother coming unless you hotel is nearby. It's not worth traveling here for considering that there are other good gejang restaurants around and the service here is terrible (the waitresses here were very polite and...
Read morestill dreaming about THIS raw marinated crab in Seoul.
✨Set for 2 @ ₩85,000 This set comes with two medium soy marinated crabs, one seasoned crab, four soy marinated prawns and two seaweed rice. The set also came with complimentary steamed egg, kimchi jjigae and refillable banchan.
The soy marinated crabs and prawns were so fresh and tender. The crabs being topped with a generous amount of crab roe and mustard which was so rich and creamy. Mix some rice in the crab body shells to fully absorb all that roe and mustard. LOVED THIS. The prawns was firmer and had more of a snap when bitten into it.
The seasoned crab was coated in korean chilli paste for a spicy kick and a change in flavour profile, but I preferred the soy marinated ones.
The steamed egg was a warm, comforting bowl of soft and fluffy egg, prepared in a light and flavourful broth that enhanced its depth.
The kimchi jjigae was mildly spicy and filled with vegetables, with the stew being a little too grainy for my liking.
Banchan includes pickled vegetables, kimchi, seaweed, beancurd skin and bean sprouts. my personal favs were the seaweed which complemented the mains well, beancurd skin for its chewy texture and bean sprouts which were crunchy and refreshing.

This was our very first time trying soy sauce marinated crab, and after seeing so many YouTubers recommend it, we decided to visit “Wooh Daji-ga” (우다리家).
We arrived around 11am, so the restaurant was still fairly empty. The space was bright, clean, and comfortable with a welcoming atmosphere.
Since I’m not very used to raw seafood, we ordered just one XL soy sauce marinated crab set (which also came with a shrimp) and a bowl of beef bone soup. The set also included kimchi soup, steamed egg, a variety of side dishes, and sesame oil seaweed rice. Seeing the table filled with food was truly satisfying—visually impressive and very appetizing.
The crab had a bold, umami-rich flavor, somewhat similar to marinated squid, and paired perfectly with the seaweed rice. The shrimp was decent but less flavorful. The jelly-like crab roe had a nice texture.
I did experience a bit of an upset stomach afterward—likely due to not being used to raw seafood—but my husband was totally fine 😅.
Overall, if you’re visiting Korea and open to raw marinated seafood, this is a unique and flavorful local dish that’s definitely worth trying!
Tip: The restaurant seems to have moved—look for the SAVOY HOTEL sign, turn right at the entrance, and go up to...
