I have lived in Korea for three years and have never experienced anything as unprofessional as BB Line Hostel and Black Bear Cafe. First of all, there is nowhere to check in, only a cafe (which doesn't even open until 11am). When we arrived we asked if there was a lobby we could rest in and recharge our phones. There wasn't The girl working there begrudgingly let us sit in the cafe and charge our phones. After about 15 minutes, a man working there came over and rudely asked us to leave the (empty) cafe as we were the reason no customers had come it! I couldn't believe it! Next the girl couldn't find our booking for 10 minutes. Not our fault. Finally she found it. Check in was at 3pm, so we left to go around Seoul (didn't expect to check in early, we just wanted somewhere to dump our bags). We came back around 5:30pm and were told that the family room we booked (literally the name of the room) was actually beds in a female dormitory and I wouldn't be allowed to stay there. Apparently the description on in the Chinese version of the app we used to book was wrong. I don't know what went wrong, but not our fault at all! We showed them our phone screen with the booking. I don't know if it was the hostel's fault or the app's, but it wasn't ours. I don't know why we weren't told this initially at 11am when we told then we booked the family room. The man blamed the girl from earlier as she is Japanese and her English was bad. Again, not our fault. He then offered to 'help' us by upgrading us to a private room...and we pay the difference! How is that helping us? It was never our mistake. We told him we were unhappy and wanted a refund and went to look for another hostel. Firstly he told us we wouldn't be able to find a private room cheaper than BB Hostel. Not true. Kimchee Hostel was much cheaper. Secondly he told us he would help contact the website for our refund. He never did and we lost a lot of money for a room we never slept in (pre paid for 3 nights). Finally when I returned to the property to get my bags from storage (in an unlocked room) there was not one staff member in the cafe or laundry where our bags were stored! I had no way to contact the man I assume was the manager so just took my bags and left. Worst hostel experience in Korea or any country I've...

Read morewere here last month
We booked a bunk bed room. It is quite spacious. There is a private kitchen(but cant use the stove as the staff said there was a fire accident) attached to our room. The private bathroom (quite small, with a shower, toilet, sink) So in total, there were 3 rooms (kitchen, bed, shower) We got a room on the 4th floor so it was quite an exercise getting our luggage up and down. All in all, I like the place and location. the price was reasonable (around KRW40,000 per night)
But what got me pissed was that, they didn't accept credit card (even though it said it would on Booking . com) The staff asked me to cancel our booking just right when we were checking-in. He offered us some discount for us to pay in cash though. (and agreed that we won't be charged by Booking for the cancellation). And that was our first day, we had to re-plan our spending because some of our cash was gone!
Also, each room has the passcode, no key card, no key. This may sound safe and secure... But one night, I was watching TV, and suddenly I heard someone on the room door pressing the passcode. I thought it was my friend (she went out shopping). But it was someone else......... When they realized this room is occupied, they just closed the door and walked away. (probably, they mistook the room).
So that means, all rooms have same passcode?? Anyone can enter to any room with one passcode?
For checking out, we could just simply walked out. But the staff didnt seem to care if we checked out before the time or not. He gave us Line ID, so we just left him a message saying we would check out. We planned to leave our luggage when checking out then come back in the afternoon but couldnt contact the staff so we had to bring luggage with us.
even though the location is good, I would consider some other places for our next...
