I had a great first time experience staying in a hostel. Thanks to Uwa Guesthouse and their very accommodating staff. ||||I stayed in an 8 bed dormitory room (females only) and got a top bunk. Surprisingly the bunk beds are spacious and the heavy curtains give you enough privacy. I like that it has a mini-lamp and wall sockets for charging your devices, as well as, for when I need to do some last minute research on my itinerary the next day. ||||The other guests were polite and though I stayed in a room with 7 more people, we didn't really see much of each other. ||||As for securing your valuables, they give you a key for the locker underneath the bunk beds to store your luggages and laptop. ||||There is also a rule not to do packing late at night so as not to disturb other guests who would be retiring early (if I can remember correctly). It's not an issue so I usually just prepare my pajamas on my bed before leaving in the morning so I can comply to the rule. ||||The bathroom and toilet was clean and they provide small towels for use. ||||Breakfast was basic and enough to start your day and you clean after you're done. At some point, one of the staffs was already cooking their lunch and she offered me to try a bowl of Kimchi Soup. (thank you!)||||Extra points because location is only 5 mins away from Hongik University Station Exit 3, 3 mins away from Gyeongui Line Forest Park, 10 mins away from Hongik Shopping district on normal pace.||||I met some very nice people during my stay and even went out to Namdaemun and Myeongdong with them. I especially enjoyed the friendliness and hospitality of everyone. ||||I highly recommend this place. Organized, neat, and accommodating. I would definitely...
Read moreI stayed there for just one night, my experience was good, place was clean although could be a little bit more. ||Bed was ok, breakfast was good, you can cook by yourself some eggs with bread. ||Courtains gave more privacy and I loved that! ||The only thing I didn't like was the volunteers working there, people at the reception were super nice but some girls who were volunteering and cleaning the place were rude, they opened the mans toilet in the morning without no ask before to get inside if some man was there shadowing or changing their clothes and then after that they even didn't apologize and looked kind of angry and left the door opened without taking care about people inside. ||Also during the night, some people and some of this volunteers were making noise until late in the night playing to something on the common area despite of all the signals at the hostel to don't make noise after 11pm , they didn't care about that and I felt uncomfortable, that's why I wouldn't repeat and I can't recommend the place.||You guys maybe should give some customer care classes to your volunteers or they should learn about people working at the reception,...
Read moreThis is not the cleanest guesthouse I stayed at but the staff are so helpful and nice. I asked a lot of question for my itinerary in Seoul and they answered them all. There is free breakfast with bread, butter, jam, eggs and orange juice. You have to make the eggs yourself and also have to do dishes yourself. The guesthouse offers a cozy vibe with a big common area. The location is great. It’s about 5-7 mins walk from Hongik station. The guesthouse is in Hongdae area which is where young people go for cool cafe, bars, restaurants and clubs. There is free washing machine on the rooftop. Afterward, you can hang your clothes to dry either on the rooftop or the floor right below. There are free coffee, tea, water and snacks to take. You can use the kitchen to cook. There are plenty of toilets and showers. You’ll get a locker underneath your bed. Each floor has a common area and a fridge. Towel is provided in the shower rooms as well as shampoo and body wash. The bed is comfy and warm. However, WiFi is not very strong in the room and also in the common area. I had a very good sleep and a very nice stay here. I would totally...
