To be sincere, the place is cute like an American restaurant: overpriced. I got a bowl which was a decent size but only two pieces of tempeh. This protein costs cents, hummus and salad. Once you there, there’s really no other option but to order because order place are a little far and this is out of a main location. The taste is good but it could have like one more piece of bread and more protein. For this price I could get two simple salads in a non-vegan restaurant. The smoothies make more sense for the price. But the “green smoothie” is not a green smoothie is like a banana, chocolate smoothie; so that’s very wrong because I expected it my green veggies blended… not banana and chocolate but I take it because it is what it is. I’m so confused about why are there only Europeans working in this restaurant? I came to this country to support South Korea not Europeans on a working visa. It really lost its essence when I encountered an american/ European restaurant. Unfortunately, I won’t even spend a cent in this because then when I go to Europe I don’t expect Koreans working in an European cafe. I will support the country I go to… The food is a bit of a trap. A bit overpriced. The smoothie wasn’t but it wasn’t the green smoothie I get all over the world even India. This place doesn’t deserve a 5 star, a 4 star is being okay with the prices and a theee star is being okay with Europeans working here and not the cultural enchantment I’m looking for. For me, not worth it if you don’t care about cultures, price or a blue smoothie that’s suppose for be green food for you more choices...
Read morehere is restaurant & dessert cafe named Plant. it is in Korea YeonNamDong. basically this place well known as plant based casual restaurant. they sell vegan burger, felafel, salad and high quality dessert such as cakes, brownies, cookies.
price are little bit expansive. but dishes are very delicious so the cost not waste at all. above all, in korea where is not many vegan cafe, Plant got valuable position.
if you came to korea, i recommend to visit here with friends or lover or alone. but not well to family dining because the hall is too openly and crowded. also this place is so familiar to foreigner. because whole restaurant crews are english people. even they can't speak korean well... of course. english menu is available.
every veggie burgers are best(they use high quality alternative meat like Beyond Meat). felafel is good too. even i'm not vegan.
to talk about dessert... i ate ginger cookies and peanut butter cookies, and coconut balls. it's really sweet too much in my taste. i thought this is american style dessert. likewise, korean young people loves sweet dessert, but it is much sweeter. i felt my blood sugar level was blazed up. but, yes. it is really delicious. i think it is maybe american home style dessert.
the restaurant located near by HongDae. HongDae is famous tour place must visit in korea. so if you visit in seoul, and look some good cafe even vegan optional, here is the one.
P.S
Plant at YeonNamDong is second location. main location is in Itaewon. i have not been there Plant Itaewon yet. menu of Itaewon's Plant more various than YeonNamDong's...
Read moreI came to this place excited to try their signature grilled eel, but my experience was completely ruined by the staff’s rude and discriminatory attitude. As a solo traveler, I felt deeply unwelcome. The staff told me—very coldly and almost aggressively—that they would not seat me unless I ordered two portions of the eel, which are enormous, or take it to go and leave. They made it clear that solo diners are not welcome, and their tone was dismissive, as if saying, “If you’re alone, you’re not worth our time.”
This felt like blatant discrimination against solo travelers, and it’s unacceptable. Just because I’m dining alone doesn’t mean I should be forced to order for two or be denied a seat. I was ready to pay, ready to enjoy the food, and yet I was treated like an inconvenience. It’s deeply disappointing, especially when traveling solo—this kind of behavior leaves a bad taste no matter how good the food is supposed to be.
I hope they reconsider their policies and treat all guests with respect, regardless of whether they come alone...
