We stayed as a family of seven, four adults and three children 5, 8 and 10 in the May half term. We had the best time in the hotel the facilities are great, food was out of this world I would say definitely as good as some of the 5 star hotels I have stayed in. I have severe food intolerances but they literally bent over backwards to make sure I had the food I wanted. Suhaila who was guest relations was so lovely she was always checking with me in the restaurant that I had what I needed and anything I wanted they would cook for me. The choice of food was so much. Needless to say we ate way more than we should!! I would air on the side of caution eating the nights on the bar as 2 of the party were quite poorly and the only one thing that they had both eaten were the nuts...they were so lovely though but I wouldn't eat them again!!
Pool areas are a little packed and you do need to be up early to get the sunbed you want but there are enough beds to go round just maybe not in the particularly spot you want. There are four pool areas, we called them the Pyramid, middle, baby slide and big slides. The middle pool did seem to need a good clean it was very gritty it was like it needed a hoover!! The slides were great fun and not just for the children.
The rooms are nice and bright and have everything you need, two of the party went Prestige which was worth it but the rooms are no different, I don't believe to the 'normal' rooms. You do get a nice view and I would recommend going for the high floors as it is quite noisy at night by the hotel and the lower you are the louder it is. If you want a kettle you can get one from reception with a deposit of 20 euros, same with the towels, prestige they are included in your room, but if not you need to pay 20 euros deposit and you can get clean towels every day well worth it. You also have to pay for a safe which I think was 3 euros a day, again in prestige you didn't have to pay this. Sadly there was a smoking room next to me and I could not open my patio doors for the last two days of the holiday which was a real shame - it would be good if smokers were not put near non smokers. The hotel did seem quite a non smoking place but clearly you can't stop people smoking on their balconies.
Staff are so friendly except one lady who was in the snack bar most of the time she was very fearsome !! Other staff could not do enough for you.
The biggest down about this hotel as others have put are the lifts they can be a nightmare and for me I could do the stairs even from the 9th floor but others on our party were not as able bodied and had to wait and then when they do come they are so full you can't get in!
We only went to the Lobby bar and the Pool Bar, we didn't get involved in the daytime activities or evening entertainment but the lobby bar and snack bar were good and again lovely staff. There is a prestige lounge by the pools which was nice but a little bit like an airport lounge!! Very dark and not much atmosphere really.
I would definitely recommend this hotel and we hope we can go back...
Read moreWe stayed there for a week, went HB so cannot refer to vegan lunch availability. ||On our arrival, at dinner, labels were a mess. They fixed the issue within two days and until then the chef would walk us through and tell us what we can eat. We got support from a lovely lady at the reception and guest relations, and they took labeling seriously. Sometimes I would ask a chef for details on ingredients, always got answers. As for the food itself - there was plenty of dishes that were vegan and these were tasty. Sometimes there wasn't enough protein source but to be fair we didn't speak to anyone about it (don't even know if this was an option). There were 3 pots that were specifically for vegans but it was usually mediocre - there were vegan sausages on several occasions and once it was raw like someone just put it into tomato sauce without cooking it before. So they tried to do something special for vegans but other food was much better. Usually, at themed nights we had plenty of choice from the regular offer (vegan dishes but not from the special pots) and we liked it. There was also a separate vegan section for desserts. And the chef would always bring us ice-cream. |As for breakfast options were limited. Vegan oatmeal, some veggies and salad. There was some tofu in salad section (never had it and can't remember if it was silken tofu), some yogurt (I think soy, vanilla flavor), Vegetarian cold cut (not vegan). No vegan pastry or donuts what was very disappointing. |Since we went HB and drinks at dinner were not included, we had to wait for waiters to get our order and that was a disaster, they wouldn't approach us or pretend we didn't exist. You have to be very persistent to have a chance to get a drink but it still doesn't guarantee success. ||Our first room that we picked ourselves was nice but it was on the loud side (noise from outside of the hotel) so we asked to have it changed. They eventually moved us to the other side and it was much better, however, the room was very small (I would never pick it when booking).|Route to the beach starts at the top of the "hill" that hotel stands on. there's no other way out of the hotel, it's not that bad if you don't have any health/movement issues. |Housekeeping was really good only before changing the room.|Reception on our check-in and afterwards solving our dietary and room issues was very helpful, these were two ladies. Cannot say the same about check-out, another person had to jump in as the receptionist wasn't much interested in doing her job.|Chef at the buffet that helped us during labeling crisis was very supportive and kind. Also the guest relations, we were very grateful for their help and solutions they offered, it worked for us well. |We didn't like the location of the hotel it was too noisy but that's not their fault. I would consider going back if they offered more variety of vegan options...
Read moreFirst time staying at one of these big tourist hotels – chose the Iberostar on basis of brand reputation. Direct booking process online, via IHG, was smooth and easy. The hotel itself is about 25 minutes from the airport by taxi, but seems well known by the local taxi drivers. Check in itself was very efficient, payment was correct and room allocated within about 10 minutes. Free glass of sparkling wine on arrival. Hurrah.
Hotel is large – allocated room on the 7th floor. There are lifts, but they can be very busy and therefore slow – stairs are available and a good option. The room itself was basic but in good condition. Beds and small desk, but no additional chair or side table. Bathroom decent. Small safe didn’t work for me but that didn’t really matter. The room had a balcony for two and very good views over the town and coast – was a ‘seaside’ double or something like that – looking down onto the pools and town with the ocean to the right – a very good view I thought, but possibly a bit more restricted from that angle lower down…
The hotel amenities were good – only did bed and breakfast so no comment on the all-inclusive, but the pools were very good – I preferred the secondary pool as it was deeper, if colder.. The breakfast was ok – a large buffet. Not really my thing but clearly popular. Omelettes on demand a thing. Found the bars to be a bit soulless compared to hotels of a similar size in the UK, but that may be due to the slightly more ‘mechanical’ nature of the drinking for the all-inclusive crowd. There was beer though, and it was Mahou, which I first encountered in Manchester in 2017.
There was a small nightclub/entertainment lounge in the hotel – popped in a couple of times and they had various variety, stage acts etc. Not my thing, but people seemed happy.
Location of the hotel was very good – on the edge of Costa Adeje, with good access to the beach and you can walk into Playa de Las Americas in under an hour. Extremely convenient for the excellent Siam Park Waterpark, which is just 10 minutes’ walk away and can be seen from the hotel rooms. There is a small casino down the hill as well, which was very welcome. Love a small casino.
Overall an interesting and enjoyable stay. I think if I visit Tenerife again though I will probably look for a slightly different type of hotel as this one offers a lot that just isn’t the sort of thing I want – more geared at the all-inclusive/family crowd so a bit wasted on me. If you want all of your things in one spot though, this one is a very good pick and clearly a very nice hotel.
Check out process was equally smooth, and the in-house system to tot-up what is to paid at that point seems to be very efficient (use of room card to tap and pay for drinks etc) – no unexpected charges or similar surprises, which is always a bonus with an...
