Me and my friend stayed at this hotel for 1 week. Facilities were beautiful and clean, Ester and Joanna on the cleaning team really saved the hotel for us. The most helpful and gorgeous women who really put their heart and soul into their jobs. Rooms were given fresh towels waters etc every day and cleaned before we got back from breakfast. ||The male staff at the front desk were unaccommodating, rude and condisending from the moment we arrived, not even welcoming us on arrival but grunting in our faces and speaking Spanish after we’d already said we didn’t speak good. First impressions mean a lot when you’ve travelled through the night. ||He did however speak perfectly good English when he arrived for a noise complaint one evening. We’d been in the hotel for 5 days and never had anyone else on our floor. The rooms are advertised as ‘sound proof’.||We turned the music off immediately and he arrived again to tell us to finish the music as the Spanish family next door had complained again, which at that point the music was turned off. A TV would have been louder and it was 11pm. Most hotels have a 12pm limit. ||We were threatened with the police which we found unjust considering we had done what was asked of us and turned the music off. ||Very clear he doesnt like English people from observing his interactions with different people in the hotel and also reading other reviews. Very accommodating to his other guests. ||I will say this massively let the hotel down being two young girls on their travels, as it gives an uneasy and unsafe feeling.||There are nice ways to arrive for noise complaints and to welcome ur guests when they arrive, I know this having worked in hotels myself.||Poolside was lovely could do with a few more sunloungers, especially since you pay a lot for the hotel to have a pool. ||We were also told 50€ deposit would be paid but not taken and would be shown as pending when we arrived, but it turned out it was actually taken and then would be refunded. We were misinformed, and spoken to like we were stupid. This was out of our holiday fund so very worrying to not get back before we left. ||This we’ve never had whilst travelling before and did try get refunded before we left incase it was a scam, but the hotel refused. Once again leaving us feeling uneasy after speaking to the male staff who clearly doesn’t like English women. ||City was absolutely amazing and so was the location and facilities just too much sexism , |Prejudice and tension from...
Read moreNegative: The staff is impolite and somehow unprofessional. There was a few problems that I will describe here: When you want to take the breakfast for all your stay make sure to ask for a discount the first day you stay there (12€ instead of 15 per person per day), otherwise even if you eat there all the days you may end without a discount. The problem is that the staff said that we will pay at the end and didn't mention that we should announce them in advance for a discount. We booked the hotel for 3 persons. The third person arrived the second day after check-in and we informed the staff about the time of his arrival and his name, and that they should let him in and provide the key for the room. But when he arrived they didn't let him in until we arrived from the city. Lucky he didn't wait so long because we returned to the hotel, otherwise he can waited there for hours. We booked the hotel for a triple adults room but we get a room with a size of a standard double room plus an additional bed, like on family rooms. The bathrooms don't have a brush for cleaning the toilet. The shampoo and soaps weren't provided everyday. Only when you used them all. The Wi-Fi connection was terrible. You can get disconnected a couple of times during a day and every time you should sign in with a username and password. During a day when most of the people are awake the connection is so slow that sometimes the internet doesn't work at all.
Positive: I liked that the rooms were clean. The bathroom was big. In the bedroom there is a fridge and a safe that you can use without extra pay. The beds were new and comfortable. There is a TV with a lot of available channels and 3 HDMI ports. In the room there is an air conditioning system that provides cold in the summer and heat in the winter. The hotel has a pool at the top that provides amazing views to Torre Bessos, Torre Agbar and the city. The breakfast is good for money value. You can take it till 10:30 AM. The hotel position is 700m away from the beach and about 10 minutes walk from Selva de Mar Metro where you can take the L4 line to the centre of the city. Around hotels there are some restaurants where you can take a lunch. Also there you can find Mercadona market and...
Read moreI don't know what standards are used to award 4 stars to a hotel in Spain. However, this hotel is most certainly not a 4 star hotel.
Briefly the positive: -Predominantly friendly staff -Location -very good working air conditioning in the room
Negatives: -One staff member at the front desk I found to be very impatient. Especially inappropriate when you have a flight behind you and have just arrived. It was exactly this employee who told me that I had to pay €2.50 for a few ice cubes. My foot is sprained and a bit swollen, so I had to cool it more often. All the other employees gave me ice cubes straight away without asking for anything. Only he gave it to me for free and told me to pay €2.50 next time. Very disrespectful. -You can hear every little thing from the rooms, whether from outside or from the corridors. -The double bed consists of two single beds, which are very uncomfortable. -Everything in the bathroom was leaking. From toilet bowls that are unstable to water basins that leak. -The cards that are supposed to open the door to the room kept not working. We constantly had to go back to reception. -The toilet paper is an insult. Every McDonald's has better toilet paper. -Nothing against the cleaning staff, but we had the feeling that in 10 days not once was vacuumed properly
I would never book this hotel again as it is too overpriced and doesn't have much to offer. It is a 3 star hotel and even a below average 3 star hotel. I am glad we skipped the expensive breakfast. There are enough good bakeries...
