Stayed in these apartments in December’21. Very bad experience with them! We spent one night and they requested a deposit of €300 via PayPal. I had been chasing them for details on receiving the keys to the apartment days prior to arrival, they said they would be there to hand them to us. On the day we were arriving I again messaged and called and would not give us the details of the keys until they received the €300 deposit. The PayPal payment had to be sent through friends and family, something I did not know at the time was that you can not reclaim money back from PayPal made this way so they were very sneaky! I found it all very unprofessional and suspicious which caused a very stressful moment but we had to pay as we were already on our way to Granada with no other booking for that night. They then sent a screenshot with a code to open the main door and another code to open the box at the door of the apartment. The apartment was not very clean and very simple. The next morning there was a knock at the door and it was a man, I had been dealing with a woman, I was quite scared as this was unexpected, they did not mention they would call to the apartment, again another strange behaviour. This man came around early in the morning to make sure we would leave at 11am even though we had confirmed with them we could leave at 1pm. We left the apartment clean, I washed the plates and glasses we used and took out the bin. We only stayed one night and spent the evening and night out in Granada enjoying the city. So we did not spend much time in the apartment no ‘use/damage’ to the apartment. I am one month later still chasing the €300 deposit! Numerous messages and calls to the owners with no reply I have now contacted Booking.com where the booking was made and they have been in contact with the owners. They have said that they will not refund the deposit due to damage made to the apartment! Which is false! We left it clean and in good condition, we are 3 working responsible adults in our 30’s who went to spend a night in Granada enjoying the city! We spent very little time in the apartment and have to reason to damage it! It has been a very disheartening experience with them and has caused a lot of stress! I don't understand how people like that can be renting freely. A complete disappointment. They are crooks who will keep your deposit, if you have read this please take my advice on not booking these Elvira 50 apartments in Granada! I have attached other reviews from booking.com - ‘note to self’ read carefully many reviews before...
Read moreDO NOT BOOK HERE. I booked these apartments on booking.com, which I have used numerous times in the past. I do wish I had done more research before booking as this place is clearly a scam. When we arrived, we spoke with a woman through the speaker at the door who wouldn't allow us to enter until we messaged a certain number on Whatsapp. We messaged the number and were immediately told to send a deposit of 150 euros via Bizum (spanish cash transfer). They were very brusque and rude in the request. We had booked these apartments because of the cheap price (it was 70 euros for 2 nights) and so this deposit was double the cost of our stay, which we had ALREADY PAID. I felt very suspicious of this and so I looked up reviews and found the Google reviews, and after reading that we likely would never see our deposit again, we left the property and went to another hotel, as for us 150 is quite a lot being young students. After leaving, I didn't cancel the booking as that would force me to accept the charges, which I did not accept as I wanted a refund. The owner of the property then attempted to charge me an 80 euro fee through booking.com for being a "no-show." Luckily booking.com had my back for that one, but still I haven't been able to get a refund on the stay or get the property removed from booking. DO NOT BOOK
