I don’t normally use hard words like that but this experience made me to…||It’s not so much the terribly sad rooms with dirty towels and clogged shower, but rather the ‘service’ that made sure I would NEVER go back there again.||||There was this guy who received us, he’s tall, has grey hair and wears glasses, that was so antipathetic and rude, it blew my mind. First he never introduced himself and asked for our passports. I asked for his name and he said it was ‘Mel’. While he was filling the registration form there was this awkward silence and then he just mumbled: “Sign here, Koko” (which is my surname). No ‘please’ or ‘miss Koko’ or just my first name, no, just like in some concentration camp, the tone of voice and the gesture, it gives me shivers as I remember it. ||||Then he let us to our room. In a couple of minutes he asked us to come to pay which I did with my debit card. Then I’ve heard him mumble to my partner: “ Next time if you book with an invalid card your booking will be cancelled”. (I used my valid prepaid cc which had no funds on it to maken booking. I knew that since the payment is done on arrival I would be able to pay with my debit card) ||||As I overheard his threatening tone I peaked out of the room to ask what was going on. My partner stood frozen in shock from Mel’s rudeness. Then Mel goes and says to my partner: “You’ve heard what I said. You speak Spanish so now go and it to her”. ||This while I am also fluent in Spanish and spoke to Mel in Spanish… : /||||We decided not to go into discussion since we were going to spend a night there, but his attitude is just unacceptable. I would have gladly left at that point, but we have already paid and were low on money…so though luck. ||||But I would not recommend this place to anyone. You deserve better! There were better options available, like other hostels that are new, clean and more hospitable.||||I dare to say that this was the rudest service I have ever experienced and it really affected me negatively. I wish you never have to go through anything like this.||||Not sure what made this Mel so awfully rude, but such people need to be banned from the hospitality industry. Read moreThis was my worst stay in Madrid! I regret spending money to stay at this property, do not book here! My bed was old and had a spring sticking through the mattress that I almost cut my leg on. The room is very, very small for the money and my towel was dirty. The guy who runs this place is one of the worst people I have ever met. I literally couldn't find anyone after checking in to get a new towel. But the next day at checkout he was rushing me out of the property when everywhere else you stay here you're allowed to stay in the lobby and use the wifi. I needed to book my next night's stay but he insisted I leave so as I'm standing out in the hall booking another accommodation for that night he decided to turn off the internet router so I couldn't use the wifi anymore. Unbelievable. I can't state enough what a horrible experience this was, and what a horrible person he is. I wish I could give the property zero stars! Again, do not stay here! Spend your money...
Read moreThis hotel worst as I'm arrived to check in & call for assistance but the operator don't even can assist me due to language as i don't know how to enter the building. Even i rang the ball the door can't opened and waiting for 1 hour just in case operator will come down to open the door. I'm try again to call and request to check in however the don't entertain as I can't speak spain. I need to find another hotel as I'm arrive late from the long flight. I'm so frustrated as try many way and ask local people how to enter and event the restaurant beside building don't know if the address of hotel it's correct. I need to cancel the booked and due to tired and jet lag I'm manage to comms with customer support after I'm wrongly book date another hotel on the same day.
