Hostal Residencia Rober — Hotel in Madrid

We spent 4 nights here.The room was a bit small so was the bathroom but it was very clean. Room was cleaned every day. Shower was very powerful and warm.There is a lift as hostal is located on 5th floor.The lift vibrates a bit but is very reliable and quick, this was a plus for us as other hostals had no lifts or you would have to wait very long. We had room 51 which is located right next to the reception.Yes we heard when people were coming in or the buzzer rang, but when it was time to sleep it did not bother me. If you are a very light sleeper maybe an issue.Heard some talking from the room next door only once.We are there really only to shower and sleep at night as we were out most of the day, so again it was not an issue with noise next door.||Reception is 24 hours and you leave the key when going out, not an issue for me at least don't have to worry of it getting lost. ||You cannot beat the location of this place everything is within walking distance. This is a great benefit as you would hardly have to pay for transportation.||Only negative was wifi did not work all the time, I would say about 70 % of time it worked.||Staff was very friendly and helpful but not all spoke English so I used Google translate. I’ll admit I was a little wary of the stay, but needed a last minute stay during a busy week in Madrid due to my Airbnb cancelling on me the day before I was set to arrive! I was scrambling to find something and this was one of the few available places and I feel very lucky to have come across it. ||I didn’t need to worry because this place was great - super location, clean, and functional. They let us check in early, which I’m so grateful for as we were completely wiped from all the traveling. If you’re fine with the basics this will work well. If you want luxury, then this is not your place. It was well aligned with the price. The place is located on the 5th floor of the building (there’s a lift, but it’s slow). We had a room with a small balcony that overlooked the busy street - loved that we were able to open the window to get some fresh air. We’re not particularly sensitive to noise so it didn’t really bother us, but I would note that it can sometimes be a bit noisy. It sounds like there’s someone moving things around (?) or rumble of a motor (maybe the metro??), but since we had the ac on most of the time which created some white noise it wasn’t an issue. ||This place is very close (walking distance) to Sol, Plaza Mayor, the royal palace,...

Location location location!! Its perfectly situated so you can get wherever you want in the city center! The Metro stop Opera is literaly 3min away and from here you can easily walk to all the main attractions as the castle and main shopping street Gran Via. You do get what you pay for. The walls are super thin so you hear absolutly everything. But that is basically it. The shower had warm water, the bed was super comfy and they have airconditioning! Only thing that would have made it perfect would be if they had a mini fridge. Something cold to drink is never wrong. The hotel is at the 5th floor. Super easy to see the sign above and to find the call button downstairs. I was travelling alone and felt pretty safe staying here. Cant wait to come back here if i get the chance. The people working here was extremly nice and helpfull. Nothing negative to say there eather!! So if noice dosent bother you that much, go for it!! Rooms are tiny but hey, your not staying in your room all day so!! All in all, HAD A GREAT STAY!...
