This was a unique stay just steps from the Cathedral, and had a charming appeal with the veiw, the balcony windows and the spacious, very clean rooms. The staff was helpful at check-in, and very helpful at checkout with calling me a taxi. It is right in the middle of the action, at the center of the restraunts and shopping directly next to the cathedral.

The pros of this is that after walking the camino, it is nice to have food, massage, landmark sights, the correos office and shopping just steps from your door. It's an amazing location.

The cons are as follows: -No elevator, you will have to lug things up and down the stairs. -the lights inside were infuriating, as they are all motion sensing, but don't function very well. This means you will frequently be trying to get into or out of your room in pitch black at random, and try to wave to initiate the sensors somehow so you can see. They also go off within about 5 seconds of sensing motion, then seem to need to regain their strength before turning back on regardless of if you are moving or not. It was both annoying and a little dangerous as there are no dim emergency lights, so if the motion sensors don't go on or randomly turn off, you are in the pitch dark of the completely enclosed staircase or hallway. -the beds, and I cannot stress this enough, were terrible. Even after being exhausted from the camino, the beds were so broken down and springless it was very difficult to sleep on them as there was no support and they almost folded inward due to lacking any actual padding or interior cushion material. -if the beds won't keep you up, the screaming night drifters will. There is clamoring street noise from 8m to 6am. It is only mildly quiet from 6am to 8am daily, the rest of the time it is racket from the bar downstairs, people shouting and talking, vehicles honking or driving past loudly, and every other conceivable sound. It reverberates off the stone walls and is as loud inside the room with all the doors shut as it would be standing in the street. The most annoying are the buskers blasting music from speakers most of the day directly outside your door, and random lunatics walking around between 2-6am who will be screaming, playing basketball directly outside, singing, wailing, drunkenly clamoring and shouting. It's all night long and it is as if there are no walls at all.

Other than the beds and lights, none of this can be controlled by the hotel. You are staying in the heart of the tourist area and the noise is understandable. They were very nice people and the room was great, but they need new beds and...

Whilst it is clean and central, it is basically an apartment block. You enter a single non descript door, ascend a stairs as in an apartment block. The rooms are small and cramped. The bathroom is small and your legs touch everything when sitting on toilet. Shower is small. There is an attempt to add a small table and chair which adds difficulty getting in one side of the bed. There is far better value in Santiago. You can get nice hotel rooms for €50 all within a very short distance of the main drag. Many pensions offer better value, better standard than this. You can easily get a nice pension room for €35-40 in Santiago. There was a distracting humming noise coming rom the starter switch from the lighting system in the room forcing to use the side lights. I'm vety surprised at he high review ratings. Its very average accomodation and in no ead deserves an excellent or very good evaluation. I rately give negative reviews and to be balanced and to be fair, it is very a clean place, service was friendly and it is very very central. Its just small, cramped abd has the feel that your in an...

Amazing location! Very clean and serves its purpose. I understand this is a small little building so some things are going to suffer. if I could change some things it would be a better quality shower curtain that doesn’t stick to you when you’re trying to shower, lots of stairs to carry your case up and the rooms are very tiny, well the one we had was. I obviously can’t speak for the other rooms. It wasn’t a major issue and I don’t want to knock it too much due to the age of the building but just be aware of the size of some of them. we did guess in advance it was small as they do pre-warn you via email. This is a great place to stay if you want one of the best locations in the town so I do recommend it highly if you’re happy with the stairs and room size. I would stay there again in...

Pros - Great location, beautiful building exterior Cons - I had hoped for a night in a clean room after 31 days of Camino Frances, but unfortunately was forced to wear shower shoes as well here. Filthy bathrooms and black mold everywhere from poor ventilation and cleaning. Very disappointing. It could be lovely, but disinterest and or lack of mission seems to have reduced it to being just another dirty albergue along the way.

Very nice little hotel. Rooms are quite small, as us the bathroom. But they are spotlessly clean, include a hotpot for heating water for coffee or tea (also provided), and the staff is very kind and helpful. Located only a 1-2 minute walk from the cathedral. Many, many restaurants all along the same street.
