Blue House Arenal Seville — Hotel in Seville

Almost all the reviews are positive or Superlative Unfortunately, mine will be different since what we expected, according to the description of the facility and its photos, wasn't what we actually found. Let's just say that we were really eager to be there, as it was the biggest (and most expensive) place we'd rented, simply the peak of our 3 week trip.

But let's start with the pros: Terrific location, real close to the main attractions of Seville, couldn't be better. Its street is full of eateries and bars and very lively. Surprisingly the apartment is absolutely quiet so the nights are pure gold. The bed is wide, however too wide as you'll see on the cons since it takes all the space in the small bedroom The AC's very effective, on both levels (yes, there are 2 levels), which is critical in Seville and not that obvious.

Now the cons: The actual usable space in the apartment The published pages specify 79m2 for the penthouse apartment. This was our 4th hotel/B&B, and allegedly the most spacious, so as I wrote, we were kind of eager to be here. What we actually found was: The bedroom, around 4m×3.5m The living room/kitchen, around 5mx4m The bathroom 3x2 So where were the missing 40m2? I believe that they are on the veranda and roof (at the different levels), and the...too many stairs. Problem is that we don't live outdoor but... indoor. The bedroom is so small that there is not enough room for a small table on the sides of your bed to put your personal items like glasses, watch, book, cellphone... We had to leave our personal stuff...on the floor! I've attached pictures to show that.

The bedroom and the living room are at 2 different levels. This annoying fact surprised us: the bedroom and the living room are not on the same floor so you have to climb steep and narrow stairs to reach the living room/kitchen, or worse go down to your bedroom. Why worse? Because the last steps near the bed are very high and steep, slippery too if you don't wear shoes or go bare feet.

The published photos of the stairs in let you assume that they lead to the veranda on the roof while actually they lead to the living room/kitchen (did I miss it?). Part of my work is about safety regulations and these last stairs should never have been authorized. We definitely do not recommend this place to the older ones (like us) as it was not easy to climb and go down, so much that we often preferred to take the lift to go from the bedroom to the living room, and back. Not fun!

The price If you take in consideration this other steep aspect of this room, the price of the stay, then the bottom line for us was in the red.

PS There's are some more cons that could be relevant to you but we're not critical for us: No one received us and all the communication was done through WhatsApp, we didn't see our host, although he/she was nice as we were offered a solution since there was no washing machine in the flat, so couldn't really ask for tips nor advice. The cleaning was not thorough, amateur at most, The bathroom had a constant unpleasant smell The low water pressure as well (lowest we had in Spain) No total darkness in the bedroom as one of the curtains is defective and stops in the middle leaving a lot of morning light in the room. Wifi is weak, too weak We had to use no less than 4 keys to enter the apartment And last but not least, the view from the roof, the main incentive of this flat actually, was not that attractive (pictures attached), mostly AC boxes and a very limited view on the Cathedral

I'm giving a 1 star rating only because despite the terrific location and the other pros, I believe the stairs are unsafe, the 2 levels and because of the small space available, all these being deal breakers for us. Having written all that, I'd definitely recommend the 2nd apartment, which is much cheaper, 1 level and a larger...

-Ho apprezzato tanto la posizione centrale in un quartiere vivace ma al riparo dai rumori. Ho dormito meravigliosamente, non volava una mosca in tutta la struttura. L'appartamento inoltre è davvero caratteristico e con tutto il necessario. Nel bagno c'era perfino il bidet! Che è una rarità. Tutto perfetto. La struttura contattata per varie informazioni, mi ha risposto celermente. -La pulizia era adeguata, ma credo possa essere migliorata. Inoltre consiglio di creare una sorta di comodini accanto al letto, magari a mo' di mensola a muro visto lo spazio ristretto. Infine, sebbene PER NOI non sia stato un problema, è opportuno segnalare che l'ascensore non ha funzionato per tutto il tempo, quindi é da farlo presente ad anziani, a chi ha bambini o a coloro con problemi motori, dal momento che anche all'interno vi sono delle scalette di legno per salire in cucina e una scaletta esterna per salire in terrazza. Per il resto la consiglio vivamente, è una casa molto carina, funzionale e silenziosa, con una magnifica terrazza con vista a 360 gradi. Non hanno il servizio deposito bagagli dopo il check-out, ma a pochi passi ce n'è uno automatico, davvero comodo e...

I’m giving 5 stars to the restaurant section, especially for the kind lady in her 50s who went out of her way to help us when my daughter was feeling unwell. Her compassion and warmth made a big difference during a stressful moment. People like her are rare — we’re truly grateful.
