We were recommended to eat here. All started well, we were shown inside as we wanted to experience tapas. We were given an English menu and an English speaking waiter. We ordered a couple of dishes and they were OK. Not having eaten tapas before I had nothing to compare it to. We were recommended the clams as " they had just come in" so we ordered some. We were then approached by a waiter who didn't speak English, very pleasant, who through mime convinced us to buy another round of drinks ( not a problem as the wine was very drinkable) however we weren't aware that we had ordered more 😄 The clams and further plates arrived with the original waiter. The clams, they were only half open we ate those and remarked that more should have been edible. They were duly whisked away. Other than the clams I didn't realise that all the tapas dishes came with crisps ( American chips) or did that occur just here ? We asked for the bill and suddenly our half plate of clams arrived again having been re-cooked? After paying €16 for the plate I didn't feel this was good value for money. The bar was steadily getting busier and I am aware that I should have a better understanding of Spanish and shouldn't expect other people to resort to my language, that is a given, however I didn't feel the food was anything spectacular nor the service. Specifically, my partner does not eat seafood, but we were told “too bad” when we asked to have any seafood croquettes replaced with others. I get it that they’re busy, but…
We ended up deciding on: Croquetas Variadas, Jamón & Chorizo Ibérico, Queso Viejo, Ratatouille, and Calabacín Relleno. All were delicious.
Found the prices a bit high compared to other tapas meals we had in Seville, but still recommend trying this...
Read moreFor the quality other places in Sevilla have, this one is very disappointing. We asked for about 7 different tapas, 5 of them were drenched in aioli from the remaining two, one was absolutely dry and only the mantecaito was good. Place got packed pretty fast and with only one waiter tending all tables, we had to fetch our own tapas from the bar (we were sitting far) and navigate the crowd. This one is defenitely going to my "do not go back" list. Beware this is a chain now with 3 restaurants total, and actually, we tried going to a different one first where the waiter wasn't very nice, so we tried our luck in this one...guess we weren't very...
