My recent stay at this hotel, renowned for its eclectic music-themed decor and boutique ambiance, initially held great promise. The spacious, well-maintained rooms added to the allure, a pleasant surprise highlighted in many positive reviews across various platforms.

However, our experience was marred by challenges, starting with the inconvenience of finding parking. The nearby public parking option often resulted in long waits for a spot. This minor hiccup paled in comparison to the more pressing issue we faced in our rooms. Despite the initial cleanliness, we encountered an unsettling ant problem. Our first night was disrupted by discomfort and ant bites, a situation that unfortunately extended to another room in our group.

We reported this to the reception, hoping for a quick resolution. While the staff promised to address the issue, our third room also presented its own set of problems, including a noisy environment and an uncomfortable bed. Despite our attempts to overlook these issues and enjoy our holiday, the ant infestation persisted, escalating to an intolerable level by the third night. Videos captured the extent of the problem, with ants overtaking desks and beds.

The hotel’s response, offering alternative rooms or a refund for the remaining nights, was a gesture of customer service, albeit a reactive one. We opted for the new rooms, one of which was in a recently renovated section and significantly cleaner. However, the persistent ant problem in the bathroom on our final day was a disappointing end to our stay.

The key takeaways from this experience are the critical importance of maintenance and customer service in the hospitality industry. For a highly recommended hotel, our expectations for service and problem resolution were not met. Additionally, the breakfast experience was underwhelming, with cold scrambled eggs and a language barrier with the staff, adding to the communication challenges...

excellent! but does NOT have a swimming pool|The hotel and rooms are excellent.| The location is fantastic! easy to walk everywhere, but in a quiet area.|The staff are excellent, as is the check in experience.|All speak very good English too :-)|The bedroom is very large, comfortable, have great amenities and storage, lovely big hot shower, the bed linen and towels are high quality Portuguese- excellent!|Improvements:|Breakfast is served at your table, just one waitress who works so very hard and so very friendly, but this does man it can take a while: but the quality of the breakfast and items is excellent.|TV very confusing to use, and very hard to make the TV channels work (everything else requires accounts!)|the roof does NOT have a swimming pool! (quite the artistic photo) which is very annoying when taking shorts to swim to then discover its more like a plunge pool with step approximately 2m x 3 m (ie you certainly can NOT swim) perhaps good for the hot summer to cool off, but no way you can swim it is too small.| There is also a Jacuzzi for two people, again ok to cool down from the sunshine (this is also heated)|The roof top has many sections and levels, is nice to a view at nighttime too. Lots of privacy and not over crowded and the rooftop cocktail bar serves excellent cocktails at reasonable prices from 10 euros each, again a very friendly and efficient bar man.|SUMMARY:| Very disappointed about the swimming pool; but:|Excellent hotel, Excellent staff, Excellent...

Location: Perfect in the old town, near the sights.

Room: The beds/sheets are v comfortable and shower works well. Bathroom nice. Beware most rooms face a wall which is claustraphobic. Though I'd specifically requested one with external opening window by phone and email but this was not arranged for my 1st night and I had to move to another the next day (which was nice but a hassle).

Decor: The decor and music theme of the hotel is cute (except for guests playing the grand piano outside my room at 9.30am when I wanted to have a lie in!)

Food: I didn't eat breakfast so cannot comment on that. No lunch available.

Pool area: Lovely rooftop area with small dipping pool and jacuzzi, and a cute array of plants and furnature. Odd that the bar only opens at 4pm so no way to get water or anything else when sunbathing before then.

Staff: Reception staff and the guy working at the pool bar were friendly. The manager was rude when I spoke with her on the phone about the room window issue, and kept talking over me, but was friendly the next day in person and agreed to refund the first night, hence me giving this 4 stars rather than lower.

Aircon: The air con was good when working but it would randomly switch off and freeze for a while so I couldn't turn it back on. Since it worked well when this didn't happen, I was made to feel like I was making this up ('the air con works well' they told me) even though one member of reception staff saw it when it was frozen and...

To classify Hotel Amadeus as a boutique hotel seems to under-rate it. I have found the hotel has a lot of qualities that are missing from the main stream hotels in Europe. They pay attention to details in amenities, breakfast, butler type of services. The layout and decors are just different. They offer different layers of the images in your memory. Before I stepped into the hotel, I was skeptical about the community of Santa Cruz: narrow streets and copplestone road that we had to haul our own luggages. However, after 24 hours I changed my mind completely. I had the most refreshing sleep, tasty breakfast, and accommodation of the departure. There are a lot of music notes and classical instruments throughout the house. You don’t need to be an expert of classic music, but you will love the vibe of everything the hotel’s trying to project.

For families it is a bit not convenient. The hotel looks great and stunningly decorated with music instruments in every corner, my room was located on the last floor by the swimming pool, the room is very noisy and difficult to sleep at night with all the noise from street. The house keeping don’t refill hygiene kits like soap, shower gel etc. my family 2nd room is more spacious and comfortable with not much noise they can hear from outside. There is one small elevator so chances are you will take your luggage up the stairs, not many flights up but a bit not convenient Rooms are not cleaned properly, no fill up for hygiene kits, water, no tissues in the room. My kids room had ants infestation. breakfast is a set menu as the cafe/ restaurant area is so small. The hotel is in the heart of Sevilla downtown.
